  1. metsmarathon wrote: stephen drew Yes! 108 homers but he's done it against everyone. This was the player at Friday's MFY/Tigers tilt that had the scoreboard fact next to his picture that prompted this quiz. 3 answers remain on the board.
  2. Correct: Adrian Beltre (Edgy) Carlos Beltran (Fman) Russell Martin (JCL) Stephen Drew (metsmarathon) Incorrect: Miguel Cabrera Michael Cuddyer Prince Fielder Jeff Francoeur Curtis Granderson Josh Hamilton Matt Holliday Reed Johnson Brian McCann David Ortiz AJ Pierzynski Albert Pujols Hanley Ramirez Mark Reynolds Alex Rodriguez Mark Teixeira BJ/Melvin Upton Juan Uribe
  3. Russell Martin is correct. 129 career homers, but at least one against all 30 teams. Holliday has 29; missing the Tigers. Hanley Ramirez also incorrect
  4. 26 teams for Reed. And somehow only 1 against the Mets (seems low)
  5. Pierzynski is missing the Braves and Giants (only 2 NL teams he played for)
  6. Yabbbut, guessed in photo-format only, so I don't know if it's actually "reading"... --- Second hint: [crossout:3qvqxh8z]Player 1: played for 2 NL and 1 AL team[/crossout:3qvqxh8z] Adrian Gonzalez (HahnSolo) Player 2: 1 NL, 4 AL [crossout:3qvqxh8z]Player 3: 2 NL, 2 AL[/crossout:3qvqxh8z] Russell Martin (JCL) Player 4: 3 NL, 3 AL [crossout:3qvqxh8z]Player 5: 1 NL, 3 AL[/crossout:3qvqxh8z] Stephen Drew (metsmarathon) Already correct: Adrian Beltre (Edgy) Carlos Beltran (FMan)
  7. McCann has homered against every team he's played against; but has never played a game against the Braves. Uribe also has 29; missing only the White Sox.
  8. Still no correct answers other than Beltran and Beltre. Granderson has 29 teams - only missing the Pirates. Francoeur is only missing Toronto. Cuddyer has never played a game against the Minnesota Twins.
  9. All of the guesses above are incorrect. FK has an apt observation re: Pujols. Similar situation as to Miguel Cabrera (no homers agains the Marlins). Alex Rodriguez is missing only the Cubs. Hints: None of the remaining answers ever played for the Mets Two remaining players have less than 130 career homers One has between 150 and 200 Two have more than 250
  10. Beltre and Beltran are correct. The rest are not. Feel free to make a second guess, this may be harder than anticipated.
  11. Stolen from the MFY-Stadium scoreboard at the game there this past Friday so if there are any errors, it's their fault. [crossout:1qsv740g]One guess per person[/crossout:1qsv740g]. Guess away. No cheating. Correct answers coming when I get home tonight, or maybe hints if they aren't all guessed. Who are the seven active players who have hit a home run against all 30 teams?
  12. Mets Guy in Michigan wrote: But I could see MLB easing the ban on on-field appearances and such and eligibility for the Hall of Fame (which I know is technically separate). I don't see any room here for easing any ban. (d) BETTING ON BALL GAMES. Any player, umpire, or club official or employee, who shall bet any sum whatsoever upon any baseball game in connection with which the bettor has no duty to perform shall be declared ineligible for one year. Any player, umpire, or club or league official or employee, who shall bet any sum whatsoever upon any baseball game in connection with which the bettor has a duty to perform shall be declared permanently ineligible.
  13. My favorite Hamilton memory: his 2-out double in the top of the 10th inning in NLDS game 2, 2000 (and then scoring shortly thereafter on Jay Payton's single).
  14. I guess this is interesting -- but mostly I find it irrelevant. I personally - and I doubt anyone who makes the key decisions - would never take any "reinstatement" talk seriously. The rule is clear, Rose is ineligible, and never getting in the hall of fame. I fail to see how this issue isn't (and shouldn't be) long since closed.
  15. Frayed Knot wrote: btw, ARod must have had a ton of friends and family in the stands tonight because I think he pointed and/or waved at everyone in the stadium during his trip around the bases. I was there (accompanying some Tigers fans). It was awful. Yankee fans are a bunch of two-faced, hypocritical phonies.
  16. Ronnie doing pretty well with play-by-play so far. Except he keeps saying (for the last 3 half innings) that there is no score.
  17. Also: when your other DH options are Plawecki, Campbell, Mayberry and DeGrom, Ceciliani seems like a pretty good choice.
  18. Edgy MD wrote: Looks like the Foos are going to pull the plug on the Citi show. Source? They cancelled their European tour dates due to Grohl's broken leg and surgery. This post right here was the first indication I've seen of any impact on the American dates.
  19. We are all dumber for having read this. 23 posts later, the Cardinals are still douchebags. Sidenote: Jeff Luhnow is apparently an idiot as well.
  20. Some combination of options above. I don't see first place lasting forever but getting the second wild card spot certainly seems feasible.

  24. Top of the order. Time for a/some run(s).
