  1. He was using Stone Temple Pilots when he was on the Giants. https://www.mlb.com/entertainment/walk-up/sfhttps://www.mlb.com/entertainment/walk-up/sf

  3. We might be better served by a list who isn't a hack than who is.

  5. I had occasion to peruse this and in it struck me as really odd that Roberto Alomar came in ahead of Rickey Henderson. Both were future Hall of Famers in the back end of their careers who played less than 2 full seasons. But man, Henderson was excellent for a full season and Alomar was...not.

  7. First class travel, chartered flight, excellent hotels. Traveling for work isn't a piece of cake but it's made as easy as possible for the players. Plus, with the two hour difference, I imagine they'll still get a full night's rest. I don't think it's optimal but I don't see it as a tremendous disadvantage. (Watch this game go 15 innings now)
  8. Books. .500. Now go win another one.
  9. Hmmm...maybe this? 1) .589 - 2015 2) .558 - 2016 3) .541 - 2014 4) .507 - 2018 5) .465 - 2017 6) .437 - 2012 7) .419 - 2010 8) .408 - 2014 9) . 378 - 2013 10) .373 - 2009
  10. Just keep winning, thanks. LGM
  11. Wow, 8th best? That's not exactly, umm, something to be real proud of.
  12. Pittsburgh dugout was yelling at him. Immediately before Garrett ran towards the Pittsburgh dugout, someone from the Pirates bench had been ejected (possibly Francisco Cervelli).
  13. The logical move is to not trade anyone. Wheeler can be signed to an extension. Play out the season and then go find some additional bullpen parts and a centerfielder in the offseason.
  14. Jason “I'll knock you the fuck out, bro” Vargas is obviously a perfect fit for Philadelphia. Filling the dishonorable shoes of Brett “spelling bee champion” Myers.
  15. Why is this a good thing?
  16. More unforced errors from the Mets with the ballpark. The advertising is just awful. It doesn't have to be this way. https://twitter.com/sportswatch/status/1153738091162718210?s=12https://twitter.com/sportswatch/status/1153738091162718210?s=12
  17. Outstanding post.

  20. I don't worry about Diaz that much. I think he's generally fine, and occasional bad games happen. Cano being awful, however, is no surprise at all. 35 year hitters coming off PED suspensions are not good acquisitions.
  21. Went to the game. Glad to see Ramos producing a little. What the hell happened with Diaz? Let's run this down: Gsellman's pitching in the 8th, his second inning of work. With one out, he lets up a double to Harrison. This is a fast runner; we know this because it was a hustle double. He's the tying run, definitely in scoring position. Gsellman stays in against the righty Greiner. Gets a ground ball out. Harrison moves to third, but there are now two outs. Mickey then goes to Diaz. Ok, sure, we're going for a 4 put save. The Tigers are awful, it's their 8 hitter, Jacoby Jones is hitting well under .200, but ok, the closer comes in. Diaz lets up a single and the game is tied. He faces one more batter, strikes him out. 13 pitches total. Mets go down in order. Pitcher spot doesn't come up. Diaz is lifted and doesn't pitch the ninth. So if the plan was a four out save (which Mickey admitted was the plan) but the second he allows one hit, you pull him? This doesn't make sense.
  22. I know we usually start these when the player is no longer contracted to play for the Mets. But would you really expect he ever plays another game for the Mets? I don't.
  23. A couple years removed from a World Series loss. Splashy offseason move to trade for an aging second baseman that's supposed to rejuvenate the offense. Injuries and players performing below expectations leads to a disaster season that takes several years to recover from.
