  1. Cano as in Bo(isclair) has left with a limp. Lowrie won't replace him.
  2. In doing the "this date" segment on the radio pregame show, Ed Coleman just pronounced Boisclair as BAHS-clair. WTF?
  3. I voted for Kingman, but I'm impressed that science is confounding a BIG GUN.
  4. As Pete Franklin would have charmingly said in the early days of 1050 WFAN, it appears Aaron Altherr has taken the pipe, DFAwise.
  5. The Prosthetics, as featured in the “Field of Pete” episode of The Adventures of Pete & Pete, had a pretty sharp color scheme, as did the motif of the Slush Shack. qrSV2cl18z8
  6. Cano is back. Corresponding roster move will leave one fringe Met even unhappier than those who are not excited that Cano is back.
  7. Pete Alonso's tenth Citi Field home run lifts him into the Top 20 all-time, tied for No. 20 with Jason Bay.
  8. From Dave Eiland's and my alma mater.
  9. I think I read Noah's lips saying to Alonso, "this mother fucker Mickey has to go" Also something about trouble with the fusillade, Frederick.
  10. 20TH HR: Hundley: 72nd Game of 1996 Beltran: 75th Game of 2006 Alonso: 60th Game of 2019 Kingman: 52nd Game of 1976
  11. McNeil 2B Alonso 1B Conforto RF Davis LF Ramos C Frazier 3B Rosario SS Gomez CF Syndergaard P McNeil activated; Bashlor sent down.
  12. Darryl seems upset he didn't make the cut for the The Best Infield Ever? barbershop quartet. I do like that Straw is featured in the midst of his prime as opposed to all the early salutes to his potential. It was a helluva prime. But the Infield represents a moment in time unlike any other in Mets history, and for the premier national sports magazine to have recognized that was the manifestation of editorial harmonic convergence.
  13. Ned, Warren and Zelmo style.
  14. Baty to trademark his lifelong nickname Gronk, endearing himself to Mets fans forevermore.
  15. Getting hyped for kid I just heard of!
  16. On the May 27, 1972, edition of American Top 40, heard on great radio stations like SiriusXM 7 this weekend, Casey Kasem introduced the No. 22 song, "Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard" by Paul Simon with a geography lesson regarding the location of Corona. Casey told his listeners then and now that Corona is near Shea Stadium, "home of the New York Mets, who play some pretty tough baseball." It will be noted that when this particular AT40 was recorded, the Mets were comfortably in first place, riding an eleven-game winning streak. Pretty tough, indeed. Just like the Queen of Corona.
  17. With the Snooze having decimated its sports department, SNY stopped airing "Daily News Live," and no longer offer its remaining staffers/freelancers a ready camera, though a handful of ex-Snoozers have found a home as SNY analysts. Which is to say Raissman is no longer on SNY.
  18. One of the money shots in baseball telecasting: “There's nobody warming up in the bullpen.” Cue empty bullpen.
  19. Rick Reed's 1997 was as dark horse as it gets.
  20. 1990: Daryl Boston
  21. That Conforto bunt earlier is the kind of play that makes you point at your head in approval.
  22. When the Diamondbacks dress as they have tonight, they need to surround the A on their jerseys with a DG on one side and an F on the other,
