    i (obviously) wasnt around yet when the record got broken. i hate to see it broken though. Aaron was honest, Bonds is a cheat Aaron was humble, Bonds is a showboat Aaron was gracious, Bonds is a jerk Aaron was persecuted, Bonds has a persecution complex I'd just rather the better guy kept the record.

    If they can show that they served beer to an obviously intoxicated man they should be held responsible, but how the heck are you going to prove that? he could easily have gotten someone to buy for him or brought in his own flask. he could also have had 6 beers (not drunk yet) bought 2 at 1 stand, bought 2 at the next stand, bought 2 from a vendor (its a 2 beer limit per purchase if i remember) then consumed the remaining 6 in short order. bottom line, unless they can find the guy how are they going to prove anything? aramark and the mets are going to say "as far as we know a perfectly sober fatso fell on you, thats not our fault, prove otherwise." unless they settle for PR reasons which is of course a possibility.

    ]But there does seem to be an OJ-like gap between the way he's viewed by blacks and by whites. which i find strange considering he is breaking a black man's record, if he were chasing pete rose (well, ok, if he were chasing a white guy people actually like...) i'd expect the difference, here i'm not sure why it exists.

    i haven't seen it yet (no spoilers please) but putting venom in the same movie as first finding the black costume is a bit quick...i'd have just had sandman and the green goblin along with the black costume (while introducing venom's alter ego and leaving that open for the next movie)

    I've always liked Lawrence, good pickup but I hope they told him not to expect a place in the rotation unless there is injury/ineffectiveness

    $20 million is alot of cash, too much for even the yankees to sit him down if he sucks i'd think... here's hoping they've saddled themselves with a bad pitcher who they can't take out of the rotation.
