  1. this game is depressing, but we're still in it.
  2. Pettite went 4 2/3 tonight as ANOTHER Yankee starter fails to go deep into the game, that has been their big problem this year.
  3. Some FUCKING IDIOT dropped Ian Kinsler in one of my yahoo public leagues, needless to say my waiver priority wasnt high enough to get him, was this guy brain dead or something?? i still hate yahoo public league.
  4. boo, i was hoping for more name-calling
  5. Hughes first outing was mixed- 4 runs and 7 hits in 4.1 is bad. 5 k's and 1 walk in that span is good. only 1 hit was for extra bases.
  6. Edgy DC wrote: Checking the sock won't clarify whether Thorne or Mirabelli is doing the lying.true but it would either exonerate or indict Schilling.
  7. umm wrong thread?
  8. I think they should get the sock and test the substance, whoever is lying should retire in disgrace.
  9. Reyes 2 Chavez 2 Green 2 Beltran 1 Feliciano 1 Smith 1 Burgos .5 Easley .5
  10. OHernandez 4 Easley 3 Chavez 1.75 Green .25 Valentin .25 Heilman .25 Schoenweis .25 Smith .25
  11. I think those W% things can be deceiving sometimes. If Endy gets out the Mets still have a better than 50% chance to win, if Easley gets out you can put an L in the books right then and there.
  12. I think Heilman and Darren Oliver spoiled me, I expected the long reliever to come in and shut things down for 3 innings while we crept back into the game.
  13. homeruns by John Mabry arent good. I'd still give him 1 or 2 more starts before i make a change.
  14. ]Why not? One stopped us from losing the game and one won the game. Both were hits that resulted in 1 RBI. Not only that, but the latter was a smart play. He didn't just hit the ball, he saw a weakness in the defense and put down a perfect bunt to exploit it. Two out game winning RBIs on perfectly placed bunts do deserve a lot of credit, IMO. because its easier to drive in a runner on third than it is to drive in yourself.
  15. Alou was good, is good, and will probably be good. The only issue with him is how many games you can keep him in the lineup, and i think anything over 130 + healthy for the playoffs is fine.
  16. yeah i think theres a huge difference between incentives to win and incentives to lose (though even a "gag gift" kinda thing sent a team that just lost wouldn't bother me... just think "hey Braves, thanks for getting swept by the Nationals, enjoy these Free Brooms."
  17. Edgy DC wrote: What are they ranking by? my guess would be something archaic like fielding percentage if the defense is ranked 12th and the pitching 1st. the number of double plays that have been turned speaks to a defense bailing out the pitchers, not the other way around
  18. pretty lame that you can get three years for that and near nothing for first offense drug stuff.
  19. Maine 5 Valentin 3 Delgado 1 Alou 1
  20. there should be an option to join a "no trades" public league, i'd sign up in a second. i'm not going to agree to any of the crazy offers you get in those leagues anyway, so might as well stop all the cheaters.
  21. Albert Pujols, Armando Benitez, and John Lackey for Justin Morneau(sp?) and Joe Nathan... the kind of crap trades that go through in these leagues make them unenjoyable, the problem of collusion is only compounded by the ability, during signups, to constantly leave a league and sign up for a new one this assuring that with (very little) work you can get two of your teams in the same league (seperate accounts obviously.)
  22. i went friday night and had no trouble parking in the main lot at 6:15 or so. i'd expect its harder on a saturday/sunday or when the weather is nicer.
  23. jeter homer ties it. yankee fans may now ignore everything arod has done this year and point to this jeter homer as the most important hit of the year.
  24. that was a beautiful thing. i hope to see 4 straight homers against the yankees more often.
  25. Glavine 2 Green 2 Reyes 2 LoDuca 1 Valentin 1 Alou 1 Delgado 1
