  1. he doesnt have to extort money out of the Yankees for Arod until after October
  2. on the CBS site, go to ":shop" "fantasy" on the upper right hand corner.
  3. http://www.funny-potato.com/images/batman/batman.jpg cycles are quirky and also overrated, its 10 total bases which can be done several ways, including (probably way more common) 2 HRs and either a double or two singles which is probably more "valuable." but cycles are still fun.
  4. this thread is for tripple happiness, not triple hottiness.
  5. how does perez get the same 6 as the guy who throws a 9 inning shutout? how does the guy who puts up Alfonzo's 6/6 3 HRs only get 6 while a guy who homers twice in5 ABs gets 6 as well? its all going to be "distorted" unless you went to a system where each player who appeared in a game was given a score in a range of x to y for each game, irrespective of what anyone else did. but thats not what we're doing and its far enough away from what we're doing that i'm sure its not going to be seriously discussed
  6. Ted Lilly is the man, having an oliver perez-like outing today. San Fran's Fred Lewis had 5 hits today. Yankees lose 2-1 wasting a great Pettite effort.
  7. I would say that after this season if the Mets aren't ready to hand Milledge a starting job in 2008 they should trade him over the offseason before his trade value further declines
  8. I was kinda joking about it, though i'd be more than willing to take $2 each over paypal... i think it would be more fun if we got everyone to make a gentleman's agreement that the shmuck who finishes last gets to buy it for the winner
  9. sucks for Pelfrey, but he earned the demotion. I'm suprised they were willing to "start the clock" on Gomez for what will likely be a short stay. I'd have to think that if el duque isn't ready they call on Park again.... the Mets broadcasters said yesterday that Humber just isnt ready. Whether or not they could turn to Sele probably depends on whether he is needed before then (which given his role I'd hope he isn't.)
  10. obviuosly i wasnt there to see what was going on, but i usually see plenty of unaccompanied teenagers or even adults behaving far worse than the children at Shea.
  11. the original point of the voting system was to give 10 in each game as a means of relative comparison, we once discarded votes that didnt add up to 10. it was a mistake to move away from that.
  12. New Guy: the rules arbitrarily cap the points at 6 to any one player.
  13. Request: whoever starts the thread please use a Box score link that includes the scoring summary (both espn.com and yahoo box scores have this)
  14. Newhan 5 Beltran 1 Green 1 LoDuca 1 Chavez 1 Sele 1 i like the vote above mine better though. (all ten to newhan)
  15. ]Brewers pop Smith's cherry! Now, unlike the U.S., he has an ERA. I'm pretty sure after watching the World Baseball Classic that the U.S. has an ERA and not a very good one.
  16. havent heard anything yet
  17. Grand Slam JJ Hardy, we suck.
  18. ="Kid Carsey"]MIL 4 METS 3 The lineup in KC's picture: Mets: ? RF (Cedeno?) 17 2B (Baerga?...leading me to think its 1998) 5 1B (Olerud) 31 C (Piazza) ? 3B (Ventura? 1999, Alfonzo -13- 1998) 11? CF no idea, maybe McCrae? 50 LF (Agbayani?) 10 SS (Ordonez) 23 P (Reed) Since I'm positive 3-4 is Olerud-Piazza it has to be 1998-1999 (the only years they were both here)
  19. Felciano gets out of Sele's mess, getting Jenkins on strikes
  20. Feliciano comes on with 1st and 2nd nobody ouit and gets a 1st pitch double play. fielder on 3rd with 2 out
  21. Pelfrey is done 5 innings, 8 hits, 3 walks, 4 runs... he's doing his best to make sure Sosa sticks around when Hernandez comes back
  22. Newhan does something useful?!?!? well, i guess any major leaguer eventually would have to its 4-3 Brewers
  23. thats really weird then. they're a bunch if greedy **********s.
  24. the local game is ALWAYS blocked out from what i remember. MLB.com only lets you watch out of town games. Mets let 2 runs score on a popup and a rundown that took way too long.
