you're late, and the Mets are obviously discouraged by the low turnout.

]Me? I was handed a starting outfield job in the middle of a pennant race despite no experience at the position. you are Todd Hundley. next: I was traded to the Dodgers in November of 1998 for a guy who would hit .160 in his second tour of duty with the Mets the following year. (no cheating, i'm sure you could easily find this on baseball reference or UMDB)

Shawn hill went 5 hitless innings for Washington tonight before leaving the game with an injury. See Yankee fans? it doesnt just happen to you. The Yankees trail Seaattle 3-0 in the 8th. Atlanta won to stay tied with the Mets. San Fran's young phenom Tim Lincecum went 7 allowing 3 runs (2 earned) for his first major league victory.

hey Data, Bite my shiny metal ass! theres only room for one obnoxious robot around here! kill all humans! except fry

Wright's homer made it 1-0, Easley's homer took it from 4-2 to 5-2, the fact that the brewers later made it 5-4 doesnt change the relative value of the homers at the time they were hit. breaking a tie (or tying it up when losing) will almost always get more points out of me than scoring when already up

this whole weekend is bad pitching matchups for the Mets, its great to take the opener, if we can get a 2nd game that'll be even better.

Mets Win!
-
come on Carlos! i think now would be a good time to steal 2nd, it makes it harder for them to shift with a runner there
-
Hardy hits his 10th of the year, its 5-4 Mets
-
Nice outing by Sosa and a big K for Feliciano. Easley homers!
-
Alou doubles off the wall. screw you suppan!
-
KABOOM! Delgado smacks a 2-run shot, thats the offense I remember!
-
Wright goes yard. Bender likes this chick's knockers.
-
we're scoreless (and hitless) after 2. anyone else around tonight?
-
Reyes walks, Wright flies out to the opposite field warning track, he's looking better lately Reyes steals 2nd, Beltran pops out, come on Delgado!
-
Weeks CS as LoDuca has been on a role lately. middle of the 1st, no score.

Always needing to fill space in the sports section after an off-day, today's Post has a Mota article that says next to nothing except that he should be ready to pitch when his suspension ends and that he's eligible to pitch in the minors (rather than extended spring i guess) once there are 16 games left on his suspension. http://www.nypost.com/seven/05112007/sports/mets/amazins_await_some_mota_help_mets_mark_hale.htm I wish they'd have made mention of what his suspension was for, yeah we know, but anyone who doesnt should know.

Yancy Street Gang wrote: Yeah, I'm not thrilled with the "I'm a millionaire ballplayer and you're not, so you probably pump gas for a living" attitude there. i thinkthe idea was more "can i go yell at you when you're working"? i think its pretty funny, i'll have to endeavor to be loud enough the next time Wells comes to town, unfortunately we don't have CF seats

i like how espn lists Mota in the injury report... Injury Report MILWAUKEE · Corey Hart, RF (Day-To-Day) · Corey Koskie, 3B (15-Day DL) NEW YORK · Guillermo Mota, RP (Out) · Carlos Beltran, CF (Day-To-Day) · Moises Alou, LF (Day-To-Day) · Orlando Hernandez, SP (15-Day DL) Hart should be back this weekend after missing the whole series with Washington, Hernandez is from what i hear getting skipped at least one more time for Sosa.
