  1. our old friend Victor Diaz hit a grand slam in that one as a pinch hitter
  2. Jenkins thought so too. He and Mench were both complaining over the offseason, but now that they're winning everyone seems to have shutup. It hasn't hurt that Hart fucked up his wrist, giving the manager an excuse to bench him alot the last week.
  3. ]Ben Sheets has remained injury free for almost 6 weeks a common misconception about sheets is that he is injury prone. he was in the top 10 in innings pitched in 2002, 2003, and 2004 and threw 156 in 2005, only last year did he miss a ton of time and he's not yet 29. ]Like Weeks, Hardy is in his 3rd full year in the majors only if you count time spent on the DL. counting this year he has a mere 639 ABs in the majors. ]Estrada was an off-season acquisition for the Brewers and in my opinion is one of their best in years it was a fair trade, Doug Davis is pretty good ]Hart shares the RF duties with Kevin Mench and Gabe Gross Hart, Jenkins, and Mench are all platooning at the 2 corner outfield spots with gabe gross also getting some at-bats and tony gwynn jr seeing the occassional start. this team has too much outfield depth and could really benefit from moving Mench for a 3rd baseman or something edit- edited to change language that sounded sarcastic when it wasnt meant to me.
  4. m.e.t.b.o.t. just needs a good robot role model...
  5. i can't think of a single american-born asian in MLB, NFL, or NBA. i don't know hockley well but i'd have to doubt there are many there either... and yet you don't hear any of them crying and whining about it...
  6. thats pretty impressive, i don't think teams have that kind of roster space these days (well, maybe in the AL) before september when the roster expands. with 31 steals and 17 caught stealing he was hurting his team on the basepaths too, it takes more than speed to steal bases effectively.
  7. the problem is he doesnt have evidence because he just CAN'T have evidence. i think if you combined the 4 major sports leagues, took out all the roster spots held by foreigners, you'd find blacks, whites, and hispanics in roughly their proportion of the general population. you'd probably find that american-born asians are under-represented, but there aren't any asian-americans out there like jesse and al who feel the need to play victim for their own personal gain.
  8. Glavine 4 Feliciano .5 Wagner .5 Wright 1.5 Reyes 1.5 Beltran 1 Alou .5 LoDuca.5
  9. well, 10 reasonaby talented players on the street are more exciting than the NBA because they don't play a team game (for the most part) anymore. the college game is a million times better.
  10. which has zero to do with athletes, unless you are actually seriously suggesting that any of the owners could be playing instead
  11. ]...Reyes, listed at 6-foot-4 and 168 pounds, was not at the complex when ...(from espn article) no wonder he needs steroids, i was 6'5 185 senior year of high school and my ribs were almost visible...
  12. Willets Point wrote: That's because there are lots of white dudes in the NBA including the guy who's won the MVP for two years running. the underrepresentation of whites in the NBA is probably alot greater than that of blacks in MLB.
  13. Edgy DC wrote: Is Beasley even interested in being informed? he works for Jesse Jackson's organization, thus, at best, he is interested in self-promotion. i don't see anyone complaining to the NBA about the lack oh white people.
  14. LoDuca gets 2 in one inning? is that his career high for a month?
  15. disgusting. public leagues are packed with idiots.
  16. Glavine has joined the baldies after his start!
  17. why should reyes go along? he's hitting well, don't fuck with success. Bald Wright is 2-4 with 2 doubles!
  18. that bastard Dempster blew Ted Lilly's Win. (disgruntled roto-owner speaking)
  19. Green 1.5 Easley 1.5 Reyes 1.5 Wright 1 Gotay 1 Delgado .5 LoDuca .5 Sele 1.5 Heilman .5 Perez .5
  20. Giants at Shea May 29th--31st, there are about 16 games between now and then... its not impossible that he'll be looking to tie or break the record at Shea if he goes on a tear. though i'd think they'd want him to do it at home and might even bench him on the road when he's 1 away.
  21. i think so, but the Mets seem to beat great pitchers (Johnson, Clemens) while getting no-hit by rookie nobodies like Jose Jimenez. getting beat up by the Mets is almost a good sign for a guy!
  22. the Mets should make fat people sign a release "i am entirely responsible for any damages i cause as a result of my disgustingly fat body falling on someone, furthermore, in the event of a fire or other disaster, i realize that no effort will be made by rescuers to carry my fat ass out of the stadium on account of their not deserving a hernia, i'm on my own." -signed Fatty Fatso, who should be walking (or rolling) up the ramp to the Upper Deck instead of taking the escalator
  23. ]Steve apparently thinks it means Staten Island. Don't insult my island by associating it with steve in any way, shape, or form! j/k
