  1. what did green just do?
  2. Castro! no need to hurry back loduca
  3. why is Milledge sitting and not playing CF, why is Anderson in CF?
  4. I would have pulled Heilman for Feliciano but not Feliciano for Mota. I wouldn't have been particulary upset at leaving Heilman in either, its only pulling Feliciano that I thought was a dumb move.
  5. I think Fielder just hit 2 foul homeruns
  6. woah, Delgado gets the lead runner at 3rd on the bunt attempt! 1st and 2nd for Braun, 1 out.

  8. tie game on the first pitch from Mota and Glavine won't get 300 tonight.
  9. Castillo begins his Met tenure with a flyout on the 2-0 pitch.

  11. imo he makes the team better, i dont know/care what the "plan" is because its not my team
  12. Luis Castillo.

And if that actually did happen, assuming Jeter sticks around long enough for say Reyes or Wright calls it a career chances are no Met fans would pay attention. It would be akin to 1994, 1995, and 1974 both players are far too young, if they were to call it a career the same time as jeter that would probably be a bad sign for their chances of getting in at all. I think Jeter's best bet for going in at the same time as a guy who spent his whole career with one team might be Chipper Jones, and I don't think he is getting in. The only other good players I can think of who are near Jeter's age and have spent their careers in one spot (so far) are Lance Berkman, Andruw Jones, and Roy Oswalt. None are close to the hall at this point (imo) and none are likely to finish up where they started.
  14. imo it is pretty pointless to talk about anyone who doesnt have 200 wins getting to 300, too much can go wrong.
  15. Rajai Davis a speedy 26 year old centerfielder without much major league experience was the guy traded for Morris. I like this move by the Pirates.
  16. 5 minutes to deadline and the Mets have not moved
  17. ]and this move clearly signals that they've got some other relief deal up their sleeves; either a MLer or they've committed to bringing up their minor leaguer Chamberlain to fill the hole. Torre on WFAN the other day seemed to like the idea of getting Chamberlain up to see if he can help out. I feel that this trade was made to pave the way for another trade that brings in a reliever, but we'll see.
  18. in clownjones11's world anyone who isn't on fire the past week or so is a horrible player who should never have been brought in.
  19. i loved the Bordick deal at the time, some things just don't work out

Hunter has never sniffed a season half as good as the one Beltran has last year. Hunter's best OPS+ was 126 in 2002, Beltran has topped that number 5 times and is only 3 pts under it this yaer. i wouldnt make that deal and anyone who would is crazy. Hunter plays...Hard...Next time we see Beltran on the field and getting a 2 out hit with runners on get back to me. Hunter plays a better CF also. You're nutz.. Beltran is a legit goldglover, where can i get whatever you've been smoking, it must be good stuff.

  22. Am I the only one who gets the impression that when Milledge is hitting well the Mets (ok maybe its just the media/fans) act like he is untouchable but when he's in the doghouse those same people (the mets/media/fans) think the Mets can get full value for him?
  23. good point.
