  1. more moises! less cleon.
  2. Kid Carsey wrote: Castro left the game with a bad back, ny. thats not good. i'm on the radio not tv so i didnt even notice
  3. i gave it a 3. there were some good jokes and stuff but overall the movie just wasnt that good.
  4. Castro guns out a runner taking too big a lead off 3rd base. i really like this guy.
  5. i was annoyed at the whole big half hour ceremony thing.
  6. it had a continuous story line rather than a bunch of random episodes that could almost be shown in any order, which i liked.
  7. mcgriff didnt do enough offensively for a firstbaseman. he's not that far away but to me he's on the wrong side of the line between hall of famer and good player.
  8. ]He's Canadian. We don't need no hoser canucks in our hall. except Schilling.
  9. count me out on this movie, recasting the original series? ughh btw, anyone who didn't realize it and cares, star trek episodes are available for download on iTunes (along with plenty of other shows) for 1.99 an episode (with a slightly reduced rate for buying a whole season at once) I think the Star Trek franchise needs to rest for 15-20 years to regain freshness. I loved Star Trek and Star Trek: The Next Generation, but they've really just beat it to death the past 10 years or so. I actually liked DS9 alot more than TNG. "In the Pale Moonlight" was easily my favorite episode of any star trek series. Voyager was mostly crap though (thank god they replaced that ugly girl with Jeri Ryan) with a few good episodes thrown in.
  10. ]And I am of the opinion that the best players of that era would have been the best players even if no one was doing steroids certainly, baroid and bigmac would have been great players without steroids, but the best of the era? maybe that would have been someone else like griffey. arod could still be.
  11. i disagree with FK on 4 guys, strangely i've always considered myself a "strict" guy with putting people in the hall but i'd put in these 4 guys that he'd keep out: Tim Raines - No YES - its a joke to leave out a guy with a .385 obp and 808 steals (and an 84% success rate) he would be a legend if his career didn't coincide with rickey henderson's. Jim Rice - No YES Edgar Martinez - No YES Jeff Bagwell - No YES a few more active guys who i think may one day make it (based on current stats with no speculation on their futures): FIRST BALLOT: Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, Roger Clemens, Trevor Hoffman, Randy Johnson, Manny Ramirez, Ken Griffey jr., SUBSEQUENT BALLOTS: Curt Schilling, Jim Thome, Jeff Kent, Sammy Sosa, CLOSE, BUT NO: Chipper Jones, Gary Sheffield, Carlos Delgado, Billy Wagner, Jason Giambi, Kenny Lofton, Mike Mussina* *he belongs in but will be the neglected Blyleven of his generation.
  12. a benny agbayani chant? japanese fans rock.
  13. I'm personally not willing to buy that a guy can own a team anymore than I'm willing to buy that a guy can be a "clutch hitter." Thats not to say that a hitter can't own a pitcher or a pitcher own a batter, its also not to say that there can't be something about a ballpark that helps a player out more than most (maybe Burrell really likes the temperature at Shea, gets a good look at the ball with no fans sitting in the outfield, and enjoys the calming sound of airplanes while he bats)
  14. why would that make me feel better? follow the comics or dont make the movie :/
  15. and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick fury Just like Kingpin in Daredevil they decided to make a white comic book character black just to have the token black guy in the movie. it pisses me off as a fan of the comics, either put a real black superhero in the film, create your own character if you really must have a black man, or just don't have a black actor at all if none of the parts are for one. i think its hysterical that pc hollywood needs a black guy in every movie whether he fits or not, and yet you never see the "token hispanic guy" written into the film even though they make up a larger % of the american population.
  16. speaking of homeruns, anyone remember Rick Ankiel? the former phenom pitcher was leading AAA with 32 homers and 89 RBIs... he's been called up and homered tonight!
  17. Castro is the A-Team. I'm annoyed that Milledge is sitting for Anderson in the rubber game against the Braves, can't he sit tommorow against FLA instead?
  18. Wagner pulled a John Franco act tonight.
  19. 4-6-3 Mets Win!!!
  20. Frayed Knot wrote: Good thing we never listen to cleon. fixed.
  21. Alou smacks one out to take the lead!
  22. Kid Carsey wrote: Are you guys watching? Sawed off bats are hardly reason to get all giddy. radio actually, but tying the game is a reason to get giddy
  23. Green scores, Milledge scores, Castillo has 2 RBI! (this is the guy who probably set a record back in 2000 when he had 626 plate appearences and drove in only 17)
  24. Frayed Knot wrote: I Mahay have to celebrate if Reyes gets a hit here. your bad pun prevented a run from scoring.
  25. Easley walks to load the bases... come on Reyes!!!
