  1. a 4 pitch walk??? up by 2?? talk about bullpen problems! MAKE THEM PAY!!!
  2. i guess it was an ok pitch to hit, but maybe a rookie should wait til he has a strike on him to swing there?

  6. WORST FUCKING PLAYER EVER
  7. Why don't the Mets want to make the playoffs??
  8. That home run robbing piece of **** cost me big on FanDuel!
  9. Where did Gsellman and Lugo come from? wow.

I guess it depends on your priority - host the wildcard game or secure a spot? i'd rather secure a spot so i'd rather see St Louis lose
  11. you who doesn't suck? CURTIS GRANDERSON!

I think, though, that they probably did it pitching their two veteran starters on three days rest. There's no way I can see the Mets doing that in 2016. That was 1987 (in 1991 they had Scott Erickson, who won 20). After Blyleven and Viola it was Les Straker. And yes, they pitch them on three days' rest. A team probably could do that these days, but I don't think there are any managers who'd dare try. Maybe Bochy. The last time I can remember this being tried was AGAINST the Mets, it seems like yesterday to me but it has been 16 years since the 2000 St Louis Cardinals pitched the late Daryl Kile in Game 1 on the NLCS on October 11th and brought him back for Game 4 on October 15th. They had planned to bring him back for Game 7 if needed. I believe Garrett Stephenson was hurt? and they had taxed the bullpen in Game 2 when Rick Ankiel (he was a pitcher first!) couldn't find the plate. every team should of course heed the example of the Nationals and Strasburg - play to win now, because you dont know whats coming later. If I were the Mets I pitch Syndergaard on 3 days rest if he feels he can handle it in October. Colon too, he might even be better at it
  13. well, Loney was picked up off the scrap heap - it didnt cost Herrera to get him, so the expectations are lower
  14. not sure if anyone else has been that we missed, but you can't overlook these guys being gone!
  15. The Mets are now LEADING the wild card race. coincidence?
  16. ENTERPRISE - there was absolutely nothing worth watching here I think that is true of 3 of the 4 seasons, but the 3rd season was good.
  17. this decision was strictly driven by baseball. This was not something that was driven by marketing considerations you don't need to lie, Sandy.
  18. Tebow batted .448 with four home runs and 25 RBIs as a high school junior in Florida.

If the 40-man roster were a season-long thing I'd argue there is a legit role for a pinch-runner. There still wouldn't be a role for Tebow. Pointless distraction. I'm not angry, just that they've got better things to do. its a distraction, but not a pointless one - the Wilpons need to maintain relationships with minor league owners and giving one of them a big shiny box office draw is a POSITIVE - just don't think of him as a guy who will ever sniff the majors and don't worry about it.
  20. real bonehead play making the last out like that
  21. Frayed Knot wrote: They put up a graphic in the middle of sat night's game showing how all the NL WC contestants have below .500 records since some date in early/mid August - about 20 or so games. Last night's win moved the Mets up TO .500 during that stretch while most of the others moved an extra notch lower so we've actually been gaining even going back to the beginning of that bad ARZ/SF road trip although most of that during this recent 9-4 run. that explains how a team that felt dead and still feels like it is treading water has actually closed the gap, nobody wants to make the playoffs!

  23. Cespedes again. wow. Don't think I've ever been so wrong about thinking a guy couldn't repeat a career year.
  24. it just sucks after last year to being losing this season to injury.
