  1. Luis Robert will either be a defensive replacement/pinch runner, or released, by August 15. Sean Manaea gets 15 starts. Juan Soto hits 45 homers. Dylan Ross gets 10 saves.
  2. I don't think we ever came to an agreement. I always favored the lineup-order method, but others have different opinions. I imagine that for seawolf's purposes, whatever methodology she prefers would be the way to go.
  3. Herm Winningham! Duh!
  4. I can think of a pretty good right fielder who wore number 3.
  5. I agree with seawolf. Even in the wild boar scenario, he'd still appear in the box score. And if, instead of battling a wild boar, he was unable to be found because he was pooping, and Vientos went to the plate for him, Polanco wouldn't be eligible to enter the game in later innings.
  6. I'd be happy with that number if it applies to the NLDS.
  7. The new UMDB is supposed to be fully implemented by tomorrow. I just took a peek, and it's pretty much where it's been for two months. I really do hope that I'll check in tomorrow and be impressed by what I see.
  8. My opinion is that it's the order in which they're announced, because the announcement is what makes them officially in the game. When the PA announcer reads the lineup, I assume he reads the batting order from one through nine, including the DH, and then the starting pitcher.
  9. I have no idea what you're talking about. The URL is only 43 characters. See my post above where I say "Just paste it like this."
  10. Does that mean that the retirement of David Wright's 5 also extends to memorial patches for others who had worn that number? If so, bad news for Mike Phillips.
  11. Try it again here. Don't make us look through a whole bunch of other threads.
  12. Two voters so far (I'm one of them) and both are for 91-95. I feel like I'm being optimistic, but not overly so.
  13. I think that somehow, opportunities will present themselves. 350 plate appearances, 18 homers.
  14. Carlos Mendoza is about to become the first Mets manager to have a third Opening Day since Terry Collins.
  15. Or Nick Madrigal. Or Jed Lowrie.
  16. What number has he been wearing?
  17. Being in a "Hall of Fame" is a devalued honor if too many people are in it.
  18. I think the way to do this, if we're going to do this, would be to start from scratch. A Mets Hall of Fame that includes Bob Apodaca or Endy Chavez or Ken Boswell is irredeemably bloated.
  19. Problem is, you have to be there three hours before game time. That can be tough if you're coming from a distance for a day game.
  20. Maybe I should clarify. The content that was in place, box scores, memories, etc, at the end of 2025 will remain. I just won't continue to expand in it going forward.
  21. I suppose that's better than 0 for 30...
  22. When I pasted the Pete Alonso homer video in the Howie Rose thread, I just used the full URL from YouTube's site. No tags, no edits, no nothing. It just worked. No attachment necessary either. I just pasted the URL in the same area where we type these messages.
  23. I agree. It's a great way to generate goosebumps.
