  1. What number has he been wearing?
  2. Being in a "Hall of Fame" is a devalued honor if too many people are in it.
  3. I think the way to do this, if we're going to do this, would be to start from scratch. A Mets Hall of Fame that includes Bob Apodaca or Endy Chavez or Ken Boswell is irredeemably bloated.
  4. Problem is, you have to be there three hours before game time. That can be tough if you're coming from a distance for a day game.
  5. Maybe I should clarify. The content that was in place, box scores, memories, etc, at the end of 2025 will remain. I just won't continue to expand in it going forward.
  6. I suppose that's better than 0 for 30...
  7. When I pasted the Pete Alonso homer video in the Howie Rose thread, I just used the full URL from YouTube's site. No tags, no edits, no nothing. It just worked. No attachment necessary either. I just pasted the URL in the same area where we type these messages.
  8. I agree. It's a great way to generate goosebumps.
  9. This is arguably the best thing on the Internet: "This may be his last Mets at bat. He could make it his most memorable."
  10. I guess Bichette can play shortstop with Baty or Vientos playing third base.
  11. The message I just posted in the Larry Stahl RIP thread has prompted this message. As I've hinted before, I'm going to continue to do some minor updates to the data in the O.G. version of the Ultimate Mets Database. I'll update the stats periodically throughout the season, and I'll enter game results, but not box scores. And, apparently, I'll continue to update it when former players die. I had thought that the new version of the UMDB would have all of the existing features, but displayed in a different format. It's now looking like that's not going to be the case. So I'll continue to do the updates that are easy to do and that will make the site a reference that I can continue to use. And anyone else as well who can find the site and has an interest in its less comprehensive contents. So... Game results. Mets stats. Deaths. No fan memories, transactions, minor league stats, box scores, or scorecards. No more "scrapbook" articles. Maybe tabloid covers. But probably not. 12. He had been the 29th oldest living Met, between Gerry Arrigo and Ken Sanders. In revisiting this list, I see that there are two Mets players who are older than 90. Apparently we missed Galen Cisco's birthday a couple of weeks ago. Jimmie Schaffer is on the verge of becoming the third. 13. These "Do You Approve..." polls don't seem to be working. It looks like the vote count keeps getting reset to zero.
  14. I agree. And I'm really impressed to discover how easy it is to paste charts from Excel or Sheets.
  15. And now this, from Google Sheets: 3/12/2026 3 3 4 6 4 4 5 3 5 5 6 5 3 SMELL 4 4.31 1.11
  16. Trying something here... These are some cells from Excel
  17. I rarely listen on the radio anymore. I have MLB.tv, so I can watch most games, other than those annoying Apple TV games and similar. And I work from home, so there's not much opportunity to listen in the car. But on the occasions that I do listen to the radio broadcast, it will be strange not to hear Howie. Even to an infrequent radio listen, Howie Rose is a familiar voice, especially when he hosts the on-field ceremonies. (I hope they still let him do that. I imagine that Gary Cohen is salivating for the chance to take that over.) He will be missed.
  18. So he's going to put it in the books. He just turned 72 last month. I hope he has a long, healthy, and happy retirement. (I'd like one of those myself, come to think of it.)
  19. Does anyone else get email invitations to participate in Fans At Bat surveys? I almost always take the survey, but each time I expect that I submit the responses that are most disappointing to them. I don't have any guesses about who the postseason award winners will be. I don't watch the postseason unless the Mets are in it. I didn't watch the WBC. I don't know who their sponsors are and I don't really pay much attention to what networks carry the games. They even sometimes ask me what my feelings are about corporate sponsors that I've never heard of. When they ask me what stories I'm following, they always involve the Mets. I keep waiting for them to tell me that they no longer want my input! I suppose the reason I keep opening these surveys is to look for opportunities to share my opinion about the recent rules changes, some of which I like but some of which I despise.
  20. I noticed this too. It's a useful feature and I miss it.
  21. I'm not feeling it either. I think that by the end of the summer he'll have a substantially reduced role.
  22. Welcome back! I hope you stick around. You can get caught up by reading this thread:
  23. Right under "Mets Resources". It says "Twins: Notes and Rumors"
