  1. I'm working from home today too, as I usually do on Fridays. The bad news is that because the Mets are playing the Phillies the SNY feed will be blacked out in my area. I may have to see if I can figure out how to pay that $10 fee that would allow me to get the Mets broadcast.
  2. I don't think I'd be shocked if Sandy came back in 2017. Nor, however, would I be shocked if he retired after 2016, especially if the Mets win the World Series this year.

But Snyder's got style (if nothing else) and a real feel for visually adapting comic book characters to the big screen and, unlike MAN OF STEEL, the fight scenes work well. I totally agree about Wonder Woman. The setup for the other Justice League characters (Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman) seemed to be shoehorned into the movie and could (and should) have been left out. And that "dream scene", or whatever it was, when Bruce Wayne had when downloading a file, was confusing. My mind wandered while all that was happening and my attention didn't snap back until it ended and I realized that Bruce was still downloading a file. My son later explained to me what that was about, but it seemed like a weird muddle to me. As for the fight scenes, there was one, somewhere in the first half of the movie, where Batman was wearing a trench coat and fighting off one attacker after another. It had been going on for a little while before I noticed that it was all done in one continuous take. And after I noticed that, it continued for a while, all in the same take. It was really well done. I can imagine how difficult it must have been to coordinate all of the actors/stunt men and the slowly moving camera. I don't know if I'll ever rewatch the whole movie, but I would like to watch that scene again.
  4. Yes. Those abbreviated stats on the voting form are just there as a handy reminder. They're not intended to replace an actual box score. I'm afraid that what you're currently seeing is as good as it will get.

Seconded as a "would be useful" request. Okay, I found an easy way to do this. When you vote on Friday's game, check out the new "Check My Math" button that's to the left of the "Submit" button.
  6. Better than I thought it would be, but that's because many of the early reviews were very negative. I have to say, I really hated Jesse Eisenberg's take on Lex Luthor. It was every bit as awful, and in much the same way, as Johnny Depp's interpretation of Willy Wonka.
  7. MLB Network carrying the SNY feed.
  8. Games will remain open for voting longer than they did in past years, when it was two business days. Now, I'm figuring about two weeks, though we'll have to see how things develop. My current plan is to close out games from the first half of April on or around May 1, and the second half of April on or around May 15, etc. I'm not sure if this is where you were going with your question, but I should point out that there's no mechanism for going back and editing your votes, and I have no plans at all to add that feature.
  9. Thanks! This is one of a series. Collect them all!
  10. You're welcome! I was figuring that this would reduce participation but if it does the opposite all the better!
  11. I can watch it on an Android phone. Install the MLB AtBat app.

Zvon wrote: Would it be possible to have a running tally on the side so we can see when we hit ten points? Sometimes last second considerations require a redistribution of points. That's a good idea. I'm not sure if I'll get to that any time soon, but I'll keep it in mind.

You go for a short man who can get the one big out with runners on base, and then you start the next inning with your long man. I didn't have a problem with that, not in a DH game anyway. The thing that most surprised me in this game was how long Ned Yost stuck with Soria when he was struggling in the eighth. I was sure he'd bring in a lefty to pitch to Duda/Walker/Conforto, but he left an ineffective righty in there instead. I had very little hope that David Wright would get that tying run home from third with one out in the ninth. I'm not giving up hope yet, by any means, that David will be productive this season, but in this game he looked like he wasn't ready yet. Maybe it's just because he had to take it easy this spring.
  15. I'm going to watch tonight's game on TiVo-delay tomorrow morning, so the first box score of the season won't be posted to the UMDB until late morning at the earliest. I'll post a notice in the IGT thread when the voting thread becomes available. http://potg.ultimatemets.com As mentioned earlier in this thread, if you want to vote immediately after the game, just record your votes on paper or electronically (as you prefer) and you can enter the values later.
  16. Given the Mets' spring training record, this one may be more appropriate:
  17. Every once in a while I take a moment to pat myself on the back for being in favor of the Dickey trade from the very beginning.
  18. Somebody tweet a photo of her next to a photo of a supermodel!
  19. I don't think it's a standard; I just think that it hasn't mattered. The order of billing is the most important thing. The next important thing is the image. If the billing and the image are not aligned, it's not considered important.
