  2. I feel like the name of the Cubs player is on the tip of my tongue, but I just can't think of who it is. (Maybe I should look at my tongue in the mirror.)
  3. But she looks better doing it.
  4. That means it's probably "Zeorge".
  5. I'm mildly tempted to turn it on, but I'm going to refrain. I like the idea of having my first exposure to baseball this year be when it counts, on April 3.
  6. The New York Post says Syndergaard-for-Dickey trade may yield another Mets gem
  7. I'm going to pick Conforto for the MVP because I think he's motivated to have a strong spring. For the Cy Spring Award I'll go with Gsellman, because he's competing for a spot in the rotation. (Lugo too, but I had to pick one of them.)
  8. And if it does, the Mets can steal the spotlight back by signing Kim Kardashian.
  9. My sense is that the lack of outfield depth in the organization probably won't be a problem for 2017. Next year, though, with Granderson and Bruce presumably gone, hopefully Lagares and Conforto will be able to step in. But the Mets will almost certainly have to backfill their depth between 2017 and 2018.
  10. Is number 3... Doug Sisk?
  11. Gary Cohen is the guy who says Jay-or-reese, so I wouldn't look to him as an authority on pronunciation.
  12. It's probably not correct, but I think of it as Zeorge, rhyming with George. Of course, we still don't know how to pronounce "Jeurys" and he's been around for several years now.

  14. Well, looking at Mets games played over the last ten years (beginning with the 2007 season), I found the following numbers: 1,635 games, 950 intentional walks. (Mets batters were intentionally walked 501 times, opposing batters 449 times.) That comes to an average of 0.58 intentional walks per game.
  15. No manager would take that risk, of course. Next maybe they'll address the unintentional intentional walk. The manager will have to find a way to give the IW signal but make it look like he did so accidentally.
  16. I'm seeing reports that the intentional walk change is in fact going to happen this year. Here's an article from the L.A. Times: http://www.latimes.com/sports/mlb/la-sp-mlb-intentional-walks-20170222-story.html
  17. I apologize for not being as intellectual as you are.
  18. The big question is... will he threepeat?
  19. Of course, I'd LOVE to see him hit 45 homers this year, but I can't really predict that that will happen. I'll say .280/35/110. He is, more than anyone else, the key to the Mets season. If he misses a lot of time, or has an awful year, the Mets will have a really hard time contending. But if he plays 145 or more games at the level he's been playing at, then the rest of the team will be in position to put the Mets over the top.
  20. I'm not sure of the details either, but I think the team that loses the player still gets compensation, but the team that signs the player isn't penalized. I think the losing team gets a supplemental pick instead of stealing a pick from the signing team? Rather than guess like I'm doing here I should just look it up. Maybe later...
  21. Not sure I'm familiar with this guy.
  22. When (if) Walker becomes a free agent after the season, the Mets can't QO him, can they? I think the new CBA says that players can only get a QO once in their career. My guess is they'll let him play out the year and see where they're at in November. They can discuss bringing him back, or not, depending on how things look.
  23. I don't think "bobblehead" is a proper noun, but when part of "Bobblehead Night" it should be capitalized. G-Fafif's use of "GKR Bobblehead night" wasn't wrong in using the upper-case B. The error (I believe) was in the lower-case N. Of course, my comment really should have been posted in in the "All-Purpose Bobblehead Capitalization" thread.
  24. Matt Lawton for the strikeouts.
  25. That's the impression I'm getting too. They would sign Walker through 2019.
