  1. Yeah, between this (if it's true) and the promise that Mickey would be back next year (if it's true) they're making this position less desirable. It will be harder to lure a top candidate away from a good position in another organization.
  2. Joel Sherman wrote: The Mets’ rough timeline for naming a general-manager successor to Sandy Alderson is to have a list of roughly 10 to 12 candidates by the end of this month, then pare that further to perhaps a half-dozen to be interviewed and have someone in place prior to the Nov. 4-8 GM meetings. The names on radar in Mets’ complex, intriguing GM search Sherman's article goes on to list a wide variety of names.
  3. I guess it's not surprising, given how common a name it is. Every Tom, Dick, and Harry is named "Brady Feigl".
  4. Two look-alike minor league players, both named Brady Feigl, not related to each other. Minor Leaguers with same name and likeness might be clones

  15. hub·ba hub·ba ˌhəbə ˈhəbə/ exclamation NORTH AMERICAN informal used to express approval, excitement, or enthusiasm, especially with regard to a person's appearance. "In walks the willowy Juanita. Hubba hubba!" I love that! "In walks the willowy Juanita. Hubba hubba!"
  16. Does the June cover actually say "Hubba Hubba" or is that your editorializing?

  20. According to this web page https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/new-york-mets/david-wright-569/ Wright's salary drops from $20 million in 2018 to $15 million in 2019 and then to $12 million in 2020. So his salary for April/May of 2019 would be 25 per cent less than it would be for two months this year.
  21. And... nope. Blevins takes over for Lugo.
  22. Hopefully they'll start with Lugo still on the mound. (Although I guess they may end up pinch-hitting for him if they're fortunate enough to get six men to the plate in the top of the tenth.)
  23. I don't think the Mets should promote David for PR reasons, but to give him a well-deserved reward for all of his struggles.
