  1. That was a heckuva catch by Conforto.
  2. Edgy MD wrote: Gotta like that Wright fam is still back there. I'm sure they're there for his post-game speech.
  3. He caught the foul pop that ended David's career.
  4. Edgy MD wrote: Céspedes, Flores. Look at some of these guys who used to play for the Mets. I was surprised to see Cespedes there! I think I even caught a glimpse of Mackey Shillstone!
  5. Frayed Knot wrote: The cameraman filming the Gelbs/Cuddyer interview was trying his hardest to keep the dark-haired camera whore out of the shot. He kept making slight movements to keep Cuddyer's (even grayer) head in her way. Wait, you saw her too? I thought those kisses she was blowing were just for me!
  6. Any chance the Mets can activate Beltran and Delgado in time for tonight's game?

  8. David Wright, the Mets all-time leader in at bats, needs three today to reach the nice round total of 6,000. Not a big deal? Tell that to the crowd that will be at Citi Field tonight to see if he can do it!

  10. The Mets were in Tidewater/Norfolk from 1969 through 2006. Kingsport, with its 39 seasons and counting, is going to be the standard-bearer for a long time.
  11. He may continue to play (especially if he's willing to sign a minor-league contract somewhere) but I don't imagine the Mets will bring him back on a big-league deal.
  12. I can't promise that, because I hear he's in the running to be the next Mets GM.

  14. Toy Story 2 was a worthy sequel.
  15. I know that this is a few months late, but it took a while to schedule the ceremony for the winning cover. (There was, as you're surely aware, a long-running shower-curtain-workers strike in Sweden that was recently resolved.) The Yearbook Cover Derby champion is Willard Mullin's 1967 cover. The winning cover will appear on Maja's shower curtain for the next year! The ceremony was held in Maja's bathroom, and Steve Gelbs of SNY was on hand to join in the fun! Thanks to everyone who participated, and again, we do apologize for the delay.
  16. He's going to announce his engagement to Leigh Castergine.
  17. Bud Harrelson has expressed remorse about giving up his cushy coaching gig for the insecurity of being a manager. He could have had a Joe Pignatano-length tenure as a coach.
  18. I bet they're afraid that he'll injure himself before Saturday's game.
  19. How silly. The Mets may be up or down by eight runs. A pinch-hitting appearance by David Wright isn't going to change the result of the game. To use that as a blanket excuse for not letting him play is absurd.

  21. Lefty Specialist wrote: Safe to say we can pencil him in at second base in 2019. I just hope he's not Mike Vail. But yeah, I'd have to figure that second base doesn't need to be on the Mets winter shopping list.
