    Well... Jared Porter said that the wants a lot of redundancy. Assuming the Mets sign LeMahieu and don't trade for Lindor or Arenado, they would have LeMehieu, Rosario, Gimenez, McNeil, and Davis covering three positions. That is a lot of depth. And maybe they're pivoting to LeMahieu over Springer (if in fact they are) because, if there's no DH, they'll want a spot in the outfield for Smith?

    The Mets have contacted LeMahieu's agent, according to Heyman. He's played 104 big-league games at third base. I wonder if they're thinking about playing him there?

    Better to go for Lindor, I think. If you sign Springer you can include Rosario and Nimmo in a deal for Lindor and not weaken yourself at any positions.

    I guess they didn't want to be "Cleveland Baseball Team" for a year. They should have spent the last however many months, since the Redskins announcement, laying the groundwork for this instead of starting now. I read that just a couple of months ago, some squatter trademarked "Cleveland Spiders". The MLB team should have grabbed that years ago.
