  2. Vic Black Pumpsie Green would work if the Mets ever get a player named "Black Pumpsie".
  3. Roger Craig Anderson Hernandez
  4. Roy Lee Jackson Todd Hundley
  5. I think that starting on May 1 is reasonable. Extend the season into mid-October and include a bunch of those 7-inning doubleheaders and you can still squeeze in 162 games. And play the World Series in Hawaii.
  6. Ugh. Hank Aaron only played one season in the Negro Leagues, 1952 with the Indianapolis Clowns, and he hit... five home runs, which will bring his total to 760, two shy of Barry Bonds. I think the state of Texas should sue the Indianapolis Clowns to demand a recount.
  7. WHOA! Will this put Hank Aaron ahead of Barry Bonds????
  8. http://leaptoad.com/mets/covers/images/2020/brackets_2020_002.png> The second round is now complete. The New York Post had jumped to an early lead after the first round, with seven of the sixteen covers, to six from the Daily News and three from last year's champion, Newsday. Now that we're down to eight covers, things have shifted a bit. The News has four covers to two each from the Post and Newsday. Voting for the third round will begin tomorrow, Thursday, December 17.

  10. During the Jared Porter conference, Sandy talked about keeping Syracuse stocked with veterans.
  11. And so it begins: https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/columnist/bob-nightengale/2020/12/15/mlb-delay-2021-spring-training-vaccine/3902575001/Major League Baseball, union at odds on whether start of 2021 season should be delayed
  12. There was probably quite a dropoff to the third best available catcher.

  14. I think he should do something about his hair.
  15. It will be more "basebally" if they call themselves the Cleveland Grover-Alexanders.

  17. Well, if they change their name to "Bees" instead of doing a tomahawk chop, the fans can flit around in the stands pretending to pollinate flowers.
  18. Either way, it's a better historical name than Crackers, which was the longtime minor-league team that played in Atlanta.

  20. I agree with the above. But if the Atlanta Baseball Team does opt to change its name, I nominate the "Atlanta Bees". It would go back to a name that the franchise had for a while when it played in Boston.
  21. Yeah, that sounded awful.
  22. Frayed Knot wrote: Jauss the facts ma'am And the facts are that I have no memory of him from the first time around. Me neither! The name didn't ring a bell at all.
  23. I recommend an app called SwiftKey. It's really good at anticipating what word you're typing and what word or words you might type next, and it gets smarter as it learns your patterns. It's saved me 545,348 taps, has accurately predicted 58,667 words and has completed 109,370 words for me.
  24. Todd Zeile has said that Realmuto will cost $100 million more than McCann but that he's not $100 million better than McCann. If the Mets get McCann and Springer and Bauer it will be an incredible off-season.
  25. How about Danny Napolarbear?
