    I imagine today that he'd have been able to hang on a while longer. I couldn't find anything online about Randy's death. I prefer to see an obituary or something before I mark players as dead in the UMDB.

    I think he'll poke his nose into Flushing for a little while this year. One start (4 innings, 5 ER) and a handful of games out of the pen.

    Like Betances, I really expected him to have been traded by now. And also like with Betances, I suspect his contract was the reason why that didn't happen. Unlike Betances, I think Familia makes it through the season as a Met. I also predict that he'll change his first name to "Bobby" so that Gary Cohen can stop saying "Jay-or-Reese".

They replaced the original wooden seats with plastic seats sometime around 1981. I have, in my basement, a couple of fragments of the original wooden seats. There was a big pile of them, free for the taking, against a wall just inside one of the gates. My friends and I each gathered a few pieces on our way out of the stadium one day.
