It might be possible to squeeze in a three-hour game before the rain starts. The forecast seems to be moving towards a later start to the rain, so it's possible that by game time the window may extend to 4 or 5 p.m. Tomorrow, in Denver, they're predicting 34° and a 38% chance of snow showers at 8 p.m., when the game is due to start. And more of the same throughout the night.
  2. Current forecast from The Weather Channel has the rain starting around 2 p.m. and perhaps not becoming heavy until 3. It's a good thing the Mets have a crack team of meteorologists.

  4. I wish they had saved all of these stupid rule changes for after I was dead.

I have to wonder if I'll have a similar fiancé when I'm 80. Is that something that the Social Security Administration provides? Or maybe Medicare?
  6. And his opponent was David Peterson. Hmmm.
  7. I asked, and this is the response I got: Tiden har kommit, sa valrossen, att prata om många saker. Av skor och skepp och tätningsvax, av kål och kungar. Och varför havet kokar varmt och om grisar har vingar. The gang in Stockholm can be pretty cryptic at times.
  8. I agree that this would be a fantastic game to win, especially since tomorrow is looking more and more like a rainout.
  9. In his honor, the Mets should retire the number 178,000,000.

  12. Please keep sharing those! Newsday covers are the ones for which I don't have the most reliable sources. Robert Shields has a Twitter feed that's very useful, but he doesn't seem to share the early editions.
  13. I have heard among this clan You are called a forgotten man Is that what they're sayin'? Well, did you evah! What a swell party this is!
  14. https://i.postimg.cc/Vv9vBTNt/dd001487-bf1d-4bf8-bdf6-c1e43a9600d7.jpg> The Tabloid Cover Derby staff in Stockholm asked me to ask you: Where did you get this early edition Newsday cover? Gjord, Ronja, and Vidar say thank you!

Anyway, I hate the Mets but hooray That makes no sense at all. I couldn't understand why Lindor was on second base. It should have been Trevor May (or a pinch runner for May) because he was in the previous spot in the batting order.
  16. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Lindor is killing this team Yeah, who is this guy anyway? I have to confess that until about six months ago, I had no idea who Francisco Lindor was.
  17. Phils make the third out at third base.
  18. I mean Walker. I'm not sure if Sunday's game will be an April 11 game or an August 31 game.
  19. Walker will have started two of the last three games. That's gotta be pretty rare too.
  20. Maybe Dwight Gooden and Anthony Young?
  21. Maybe in the Wayback Machine? If you remember the URL of the forum you might be able to look it up. This is disappointing: https://web.archive.org/web/20050407045939/http://pub70.ezboard.com/bthecranepoolforumhttps://web.archive.org/web/20050407045939/http://pub70.ezboard.com/bthecranepoolforum But this is interesting. Unfortunately, none of the thread links seem to work: https://web.archive.org/web/20060209025713/http://cybermessageboard.ehost.com/getalife/index.phphttps://web.archive.org/web/20060209025713/http://cybermessageboard.ehost.com/getalife/index.php
  22. Yes, this sucks, but we're still off to a much quicker start than last year.
  23. You'd think they'd at least try to squeeze in eight or ten pitches.
  24. It's deja vu all over again! http://archives.thecranepool.net/1600/f6_t1674.shtmlhttp://archives.thecranepool.net/1600/f6_t1674.shtml http://archives.thecranepool.net/11400/f1_t11408.shtmlhttp://archives.thecranepool.net/11400/f1_t11408.shtml http://archives.thecranepool.net/17500/f1_t17542.shtmlhttp://archives.thecranepool.net/17500/f1_t17542.shtml http://archives.thecranepool.net/19200/f1_t19295.shtmlhttp://archives.thecranepool.net/19200/f1_t19295.shtml http://archives.thecranepool.net/21000/f1_t21005.shtmlhttp://archives.thecranepool.net/21000/f1_t21005.shtml http://archives.thecranepool.net/22500/f1_t22552.shtmlhttp://archives.thecranepool.net/22500/f1_t22552.shtml http://archives.thecranepool.net/24100/f1_t24169.shtmlhttp://archives.thecranepool.net/24100/f1_t24169.shtml http://archives.thecranepool.net/25400/f1_t25468.shtmlhttp://archives.thecranepool.net/25400/f1_t25468.shtml http://archives.thecranepool.net/26700/f1_t26732.shtmlhttp://archives.thecranepool.net/26700/f1_t26732.shtml http://thecranepool.net/phpBB32/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28130http://thecranepool.net/phpBB32/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28130
