I wonder if they'll be satisfied with him as a backup catcher for the next six weeks (or more) or if a deal will be made. I don't see any obvious alternatives in the farm system. Nick Meyer looks like he might be a little bit better than Mazeika, but Mazeika is on the 40-man. And it doesn't look like Alvarez is ready yet.

Later Well, Mays and Mantle weren't highly paid active players at the time of their banishment or suspension. That's the key difference here. The Dodgers are saving a shit-ton of money if this holds up.
