  1. I just got this link in an e-mail. Took a quick look, but don't have time to digest it right now: http://www.sportsclubstats.com/MLB/National/East/Mets.html
  2. I don't know that getting caught stealing third is necessarily an "error." What was the score? How many outs were there? The attempted steal may have been a smart move that just didn't work. Or it may have been a stupid blunder.

Instead they're FIVE games out! A good day for the Mets. Hopefully they'll win at least one of the next two to keep it at 5. Even better, of course, winning both would put the Phillies at 7 and they'd be off our radar screens, at least for a while.
  5. Maine 5 Green 1 Beltran 2.5 Easley 1.5
  6. OHernandez 3 Wagner 1.1 Reyes 1.6 Delgado 2.7 Castro 0.8 Wright 0.8
  7. Not to mention in the wild card race, if it comes to that.
  8. Voting for the Mets' cute little 6-inning win over the Cardinals on Wednesday night will close some time over the weekend. http://cybermessageboard.ehost.com/getalife/viewtopic.php?t=6722
  9. And the Mets are assured that they'll enter July, and leave Philadelphia, in first place. Another win tonight and the lead over the Phillies would be a fairly nice 5 games.
  10. Victorino = K! Mets TCB! Nice!
  11. Barajas = K Victorino up.
  12. Yikes, I walked away for a little while and it's 6-5, and fasten-your-seatbelt time. Glad it's the bottom of the order. The bad part of that is if there are any baserunners, the top of the order gets to try to drive them in. I'd really like to start this series, and this day, with a win. C'mon Billy!
  13. 7th inning ends 6-4. Coming up for the Mets: Wright, Delgado, Green. A run or two this inning would be nice. A little breathing room would be nice, with Utley and Howard due up next inning.
  14. Note to self: No Schaefer for Mota today.
  15. Two-run homer for Wes Helms. If Valadius was here, this would be his post: ]FUCK!
  16. Nope, Mota is in. No double switch. Mota's due up third in the 8th inning.
  17. Should Hernandez pitch the 7th? 6, 7, and 8 hitters due up for the Phillies. Let's see...
  18. Looks like Hernandez threw 29 pitches that inning.
  19. Okay, Rowand fanned. Sigh of relief. Mets still lead by 4 with three innings left to play.
  20. That knockout punch doesn't look as final as it may have seemed. The Phillies are getting up off the mat.
  21. Not so sure about Sosa. He has "the taint."
  22. Shawn Green is a candidate for 20 this year. Reuben Gotay could be a 6. How about Tim Teufel 11 or Cliff Floyd 30?
  23. Tommie Agee 20. Jose Reyes 7 Keith Hernandez 17
  24. And among the DL guys, Alou and Pedro Martinez wouldn't be welcomed back.
