  1. Would he still demand a tent? I don't see it happening.
  2. Yeah, he's a good guy. He deserved a better last game as a Met than what he had today.
  3. This year was worse. Last year was good. This year was bad.
  4. An apology would have been even better.
  5. Rooting for the Yankees and Cubs to lose. And the Phillies too. So I care, but not enough to watch. I've only watched two or three non-Mets postseason games since 1994. I may (or may not) peek at an inning here or there, but no more sitting down to watch a baseball game. I used to be a baseball fan. Now I'm simply a Mets fan. It's the legacy of 1994.

  7. Yeah. I don't give a rat's ass either.
  8. Yeah, we all get to get on with our lives. Frankly, as disappointed as I am that the Mets are done, I'm glad I won't feel compelled to watch any more baseball until April. These last two weeks were no fun, and I'll be glad to have my evenings back.
  9. He had a bad month or so. Back in April, David Wright (you know, the MVP candidate) did the same. It's way to early to give up on a talented young player. I'd certainly bring him back as the starting shortstop next year. If anything, I'd try to get some competition for him for the leadoff spot. Jose can play shortstop and bat 8th if his funk continues.
  10. I don't blame Willie either. As I said in my post on Page 1 of the thread, it's not about blame it's about going forward. If he's still in the dugout next spring the stink of this season will be all over him. The players need someone who'll bring a new attitude, who can prevent this thing from carrying over. I don't think Willie can do that. And that's why I want him to go. It's about 2008, not about 2007.
  11. Especially now that that's no longer true. (Assuming it ever was.)
  12. Okay, now that the collapse is official, so is my position: I want Willie Randoph fired before the week is out.

  14. Urrrgggh! THAT, of all things, has ruined my day!

  16. One final box score
  17. I guess I was prepared for this. I saw it coming since two weeks ago today. There have been a few times in the past two weeks when I've allowed myself to become a little optimistic, but, well, I smelled a stink on this team and I guess my nose knows. I wish I was wrong!
  18. You're not pleased with today's results?
  19. Wow. When that ball jumped off Castro's bat I had visions of 7-5. Oh well. 7-1 is better than 7-0. Phillies have scored in the first. 1-0
  20. They sure didn't waste any time bursting my bubble. Well, it ain't over 'till it's over. Let's hang in there kiddies.
  21. I guess this isn't meant to be easy. GO NATIONALS!

He cut school during his senior year in high school to go to the 1980 celebration. Nice story. Let's hope he gets pounded today.
  23. I think it's time for a pre-game singalong. Meet the Mets Meet the Mets Step right up and greet the Mets... Come on everybody! Join in!
  24. Very nice one-day jump for the Mets, as expected. Rockies in the most tenuous position this morning.
