I dismiss any cover which includes a MFY. The "3 Great Days" got one of my votes for being a sarcastic headline.

I wonder if the staff in Stockholm has a breakdown of which Met has been on the cover of the most nominees? There are 2 excellent Cespedes covers here but could it be Jose? David? Terry? Mr. Met?

Opening Jay, Club Amed, 1st Things First. I like that they used DW making a goofy ass face as a photo cover. Good stuff. I also immediately exclude any photo that has a MFY on it. Fuck them, even in winter.

No, that hasn't been being tracked. I would guess that it's Cespedes, Harvey, deGrom, or Syndergaard. If you want to do a count on the finalists, meaning covers that have advanced into the second round, you can look at the bracket images from 2015 and 2016 in this thread.

Tim Tebow, celebrated Highsman winner and failed NFL quarterback switching to baseball in his late 20s, is a much more interesting story than continuing the ESPN use of him as a flashpoint in the culture wars. Gotta have faith indeed.

I took Opening Jay, Cowboy Up, Club Amed . I like Ces's car cover but not
crazy about the headline.

I'm always amazed at reading these how bad these papers are.

Tebow's out because this is presumably a Mets/baseball thing. Stories about ranches and cars (even without the mockery) out too.

Club Amed I guess, and Spring for the fences. Mostly for the bravado and the pun.

Yeah didn't mention that, but fuck Tim Tebow too. Mostly because his continuing press has nothing to do with his ability/inability to play baseball.

Knowing how things turned out makes these optimistic Spring Training covers all the more painful.

Yes, Yanks (unless it was a horrible loss/injury) on the cover equally is disqualifying.

I Cowboy'd Up because I love Ces in that getup.

Is Tebow coming back next year or has he gotten baseball out of his system?

Yup. The only one that still evokes feelings of hope is Club Amed.

Those back pages are so uninspiring, I'm not voting in this round.

This is usually the case for Spring training covers.

But I fear that this year, it's about to get worse.

Opening Jay and Club Amed have a little tabloid zest to them during a mostly newsless period. The "We're All In" from the Post features an irresistible photo.

Man, 2017 is gonna be great!
