Edgy MD Site Manager Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Ugh, didn't even stay up for it , Dodgers just didn't look like doing much. A lot of talk about Beltran's tears on Twitter, and how he's a sure fire HOF.Is he?? I would imagine there are plenty of comparable players not in the HOFSay what you want about baseball reference comps, but they certainly speak well of Beltran.Similar BattersAndre Dawson (928.0)Billy Williams (886.0)Al Kaline (881.8)Luis Gonzalez (870.8)Tony Perez (863.4)Gary Sheffield (856.8)Dave Winfield (856.6)Dwight Evans (851.4)Chipper Jones (850.4)Adrian Beltre (843.2)Similar Batters through 40Andre Dawson (931.3)Dave Winfield (926.8)Luis Gonzalez (870.8)Gary Sheffield (856.8)Chipper Jones (850.4)Carl Yastrzemski (841.6)Dave Parker (839.2)Harold Baines (836.9)Reggie Jackson (830.6)Tony Perez (823.9)Throw in (1) defense, (2) Jones and Beltre being clearly destined for the Hall, and (3) being probably the best post-season player ever, and he's in like Early Wynn.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Good on the Astros. They're still one behind the Mets on WS championships, though.Didn't stay up to catch the end because, hey, gotta get up early.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Congrats to 'stros! Now, what am I gonna do between now and Tabloid Cover Derby?

Guest 41Forever Guests Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Pretty good day for Carlos Correa. He earns one ring, then gives another away.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 The racist gets to celebrate again. America in 2017.Congratulations to the 24 Astros that did not make dickhead racist gestures, and especially to our own Carlos Beltran.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Nice moment for Beltran here:https://www.sny.tv/mets/news/carlos-beltran-sheds-tears-after-winning-world-series-with-astros/260454946
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 I like thevideo on this page where they've edited in Astros fans reacting to the game at the viewing party at Minute Maid Park. I've long thought using the home ballpark for viewing parties for postseason road games was a good idea so I'm glad to see that Houston finally did it (unless some other team has done it that I'm not aware of).
