Winning 20+ games is the recipe for collapsing to the Yankees in the ALDS.

...while stranding the tying run on third.

I just became a real big Houston Astros fan.

Better them than the Red Sox (IMO). Thought the Indians were the AL's best team this year, thought Houston was the second best.

This was the worst day of baseball since Noah got hurt and before that last year's WC game. I fantasized about both of those SOBs being eliminated but now they play on. I have no doubt that WSH will win today and baseball life will continue to suck for at least 2 more weeks. Now to congratulate a MFY fan across the hall. Crap.

Hey Francisco Lindor: nice Grand Slam but you were 1 for 17 otherwise. You want to be counted among the great young short stops in the game today? Not with that shit you're not.

And Jose Ramirez: you were supposed to be the secret weapon, the best player no one knows about. Well guess what? You're still invisible to most baseball fans because you barely showed up
in this series [2-for-20, both singles]

And Corey Klubar, I'm not even speaking to you. Two starts totaling 6.1 innings total and you served up 9 runs including 4 HRs?!? Shit, I can get Matt Harvey to do that for me. Go get a freakin' Klu, eh!

From Terry Pluto's column:
http://www.cleveland.com/pluto/index.ssf/2017/10/cleveland_indians_season_ends.html

But the main culprit was this: The bats went silent.

Francisco Lindor? The All-Star shortstop was 2-for-18 ... six strikeouts.

Jason Kipnis? He was 4-for-22 ... eight strikeouts.

Jose Ramirez? He was 2-for-20 ... seven strikeouts.

Edwin Encarnacion? He was 0-for-7 ... and missed three games with an ankle injury.

Michael Brantley? Coming back from an ankle injury, he was 1-for-11.

Tribe designated hitters were designated outs ... a combined 1-for-18, Brantley's single was the only hit.

The weight of great expectations combined with a fear of a postseason flop seemed to infect nearly ever Cleveland player swinging a bat.

The Indians batted .171 for the five games.

You don't want to see Washington lose?

There is too much of an asshole quotient with the rest of the team. Unfortunately, the Astros are the only palatable team left.

As I watch these games I find myself rooting against the Nats but that's pretty much out of habit from the regular season.
In truth though my feelings on it aren't all that strong and I suspect I'll probably be pulling for whoever the winner out of this series is over the Dodgers.

Everything was a problem. But Lindor was a few inches away from a Game 3 home run; I'd take 3-18 if two of the three hits were home runs. And the Indians scored more earned runs than the Yankees in Game 4. The 7 total errors in Games 4 and 5 - ick. So if I wanted to pin the blame on anything, I'd start with the defense.

I'll be happy for the Murph if he wins it all. Likewise for Granderson. But still, go Astros!

I'd root Dodgers over Nats. Granderson + just wanting the team that beat us to lose as a rule.

I don't really have anything against the Cubs winning again either.

Favorite is still Beltran's Astros though.

Just sayin'

Sixteen strikeouts in 20 at-bats? That's incredible!
