Hate that orange-haired mother fucker.

(not really, it's the hind-sighted lament and jealousy talkin'...)

I thought the cover photo was fantastic. SI still does great photography. The cover sucks, though, like most every cover nowadays sucks. It's too bad that the present trend is to cram practically the entire table of contents onto every magazine cover.

This cover reminds me that I'm pretty sure Turner was one of the voices in the LAD clubhouse who went to mgmt a year or so ago and told them they needed to get Puig the fuck out of there.
Seems that winning cures all ills based on that photo.

First of all, the point of having three periods in a three-word phrase is to suggest that the statement in the phrase is such an unadulterated fact that each part of it is a fact, so it should be ... three periods. "BEST. TEAM. EVER."

The question mark in "BEST. TEAM. EVER?" totally belies the two earlier periods. That's bad copywriting!

Sports Illustrated acknowledged baseball? I thought it was just a football/naked women sheet these days.

Then just one period would have sufficed (after TEAM).

;)

Agreed. They stamp in two periods for emphasis and then follow that up with the wet noodle of a question mark?

Don't come into my layout office with that garbage!

Whenever I see these overcrowded covers, I'm reminded of this classic

My issue came with no cover, but the address label stamped on the TOC. And they wonder why print is going to hell.
