Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Matz is a disgrace.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Wow, Céspedes chases the slider low and away.Again and again.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 I wonder what the team record is for 1st inning pitch count.Get me Elias on the horn.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 I don't believe Matz will be in the organization next season.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2017 Author Posted August 17, 2017 This game makes it now 104 runs allowed in 119 1st innings for the Mets. That's an ERA of nearly 8.00 and a slash line (before today) of .305/.367/.517 w/26 HRsNo other inning has more than 80 RAI'm not going to look up every other team to find out if that's the worst in all of baseball but I can't imagine that it's not.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Crap!Can't they keep the ball in the ballpark?Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2017 Author Posted August 18, 2017 (edited) Once again a NYM bat manages to hit the ball directly at the lone glove on the opposite side of the infield. It takes some sort of talent to do that so consistently and not cause the infielder to even have to move. And then their 112 pound midget hits a seven hopper that never comes near any of the infielders.... and game over! seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 I picked a good night to leave the TV off, apparently.
Guest cooby Guests Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Not good. We need our boys back. But I think we will prevail tonight
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Time to stretch...[youtube:eyv1d9hs]KzLeNtrAQzA[/youtube:eyv1d9hs]

Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Must...not...get...hopes...up.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 This fuckin' team, folks. This fuckin' team.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2017 Author Posted August 18, 2017 I don't think I've ever bailed on a Met/Yanx game before, but I did tonight.Oh I checked back here and there, but I just couldn't hang with it for any length of time. And for a series decided by 2, 1, 2, and 2 runs, none of the games seemed even slightly close.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 The GrandySlam really upped my hopes but that's what the Mets do to you sometimes. Up your hopes and then kick you in the nutz.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 I was long gone by then. Four straight nights of this nonsense, and then following each day with the shitdick fans I work with. Rough week.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Stephen Matz "It sucks to suck. I know that."Classic!!

I can only imagine the BS I'll encounter when I get there today. If you see the headline "Mets Fan Snaps, Goes Postal at Work" with a dateline Purchase, NY, you'll know.Later
