I think the radio guys just announced the Mets have acquired lefty Tommy Milone, recently DFAed by Milwaukee.

Had a decent run with the A's a few years back.

Better idea than Mat Latos who was recently DFA'd by Toronto
He had some decent seasons a few years back too, but not lately and, besides, he's a dick with far too many dicky tattoos.

Pitch-to-contact guy, even at his best, which was 2015 and earlier. Sharply increasing HR/FB and hard-hit numbers over the past season-plus. So, "Shellhead," maybe?

This may not be the best fit.

I'm sure he'll get the 35 off of Adam Wilk's back. Perhaps with Wilk's name still on it.

It would appear Milone's thing for 33 dates back to college when he was a USC teammate of Lucas Duda. Maybe the best punishment for Harvey would be to give Milone his number and re-issue Harvey something like 68 or 74.

Desperation move. He's probably better than Wilk and certainly better than Montero.

Low-K lefty with a burgeoning HR problem... he basically IS Wilk, isn't he?

That's the provocative copy this reader wants to see more of at MBTN.net. Run with it, kid.

Well, you hope he won't have jetlag.

i like the move - what else were you going to do? he has hte potential to fill in capably with all the injuries - unlike Adam Wilk!

In Gotham's fair city
Where the pitching's not pretty
I first set my eyes on sweet Tommy Milone
He gave us five innings
And we should have been winning
Crying the bullpen and fielding, oh how they blow
The bullpen and fielding, oh how they blow

He sure was a pitcher
But no belly itcher
With men on he even drove in a run
He gave us five innings
And we should have been winning
Crying the bullpen and fielding, oh how they blow
The bullpen and fielding, oh how they blow

His lead, well, we blew it, and that's all there is to it
But we've not seen the end of sweet Tommy Milone
He'll give us more innings
And maybe some winning
Crying the bullpen and fielding, oh how they blow
The bullpen and fielding, oh how they blow

He failed as a Twinkie
Folks thought he'd be stinky
And the Mets, they would call up Las Vegas that night
Saying "Send a new pitcher!
Dutch! Greek! Lubavitcher!"
But Tommy was decent
Oh, how could they know?!

Oh, how could they know?!
They'd all seen him throw!
As Tom slayed the Giants, they cried,
"How could we know?"

Funny typo in USA TODAY NETWORK piece, "So call off any plans for a Tommy
Milone bubble head promotion."
