Going to the Game in 2017

This thread needs a bump.

I'm going back to Jersey for a few days and thinking about a ticket to one of the games against SF this Monday-Wednesday. Pepsi Porch (or whatever it is now) tickets are going for less than $20. Anyone going to any of those games?

I will be there Tuesday up in the Prom behind home plate

by the way this is just one of those years so far: Weather looks crappier for our home games than away games almost every day of the season so far. Chance of rain this Friday-Sat; cooler next week than this.

MFYs got every good weather day in NYC for a home game this entire year so far.

That's where I usually sit. Not sure when I'm going to get there again. I usually try to get to a game before the season has left me demoralized.

It may already be too late.

I'm thinking about going Sunday... and, er, selling the gloves on eBay Monday...

Still 9 days away, but I'll be in attendance for 05/12 and 05/13 at Milwaukee. I'm still holding out hope that they be back at .500 by that series.

I'll be skipping the pink-ness on Mother's Day.

About 90% certainty that Little Solo and I will be in the Steel City for the Sunday Night game on 5/28. First trip to PNC.

We texted but did not meet. sniff.

Unbelieveably stress-free game, almost nothing to say. I mean, Wheeler looked as good as I can remember.

Giants are a lot like the Mets, in my expereience. When they're going bad there's nothing worse in the world than them. And unless they get a real left fielder they're going to continue to suck.

Conforto's HR off the bat looked "too high" but carried.

TJ made a great play there in the 9th and of course smacked the shit out of the ball. He's the guy we play at 3rd, most nights, when Doodoo comes back, at least while he stays hot. I could see that ball off the bag play ruining the night for Familia, so it was big.

Plenty of too aggressive bullpenning by Terry. I thought if we got 1 more run in the 8th he's have gone to Montero, but maybe he thought he'd be the best bet to back up the unknown today.

Queens Brewery session IPA is not real flavorful.

Cold but not frigid. Had a hat and hood, but didn't need gloves and a blanket till the 8th.

Mama's of Corona promenade stand not open. Is that usual?

Visited the Coke platform seeing if Ochoseis returned to his seat. First time there since they switched sodapop brands

Oh, Klassik Rawk pregame concert with Long Island's own WONDROUS STORYS. They actually sounded good for a band playing in a parking lot

Damn, I'm going to be in Buffalo that morning, too, to run a half marathon. If that had been a 1 PM start I could have maybe darted down to catch the game, but, alas, a Sunday night game wouldn't get me back in time to see Fgirl march with the Girl Scouts in the local Memorial Day parade.

Ahh too bad. This is a case where the night game helps me. I can make the drive out early Sunday, then drive back Monday. For a day game I'd either have to go two nights or get up really early or get home really late.

It's now 100% that we're going (Confirmation gift for the little guy). If any PNC veterans have gameday suggestions please share.

A few blocks from the stadium (same side of the river, opposite Heinz Field) is a nice row of waterfront bars and restaurants that probably draw significant biz from pre-gamers. IMO, the sandwich with french fries on it, like the Philly cheesesteak, is more of a regional curiousity than something that's actually good to eat.

There's a cool science museum, also on that side of the river near Heinz.

Try not to fall asleep driving on the PA Turnpike, the world's straightest highway.

thanks; we are staying I guess south? Our hotel has a shuttle that takes us to the bridge to walk over.

I was thinking of doing the Forbes Field wall before we came home the next day.

Have to check with The Boss later to see if it works.

Finally getting to a game. leveraging Father's Day and going Sunday. Just me and the very recently potty trained older one, so we'll see how this goes.

I'm sure not having to change diapers adds to the Father's Day experience
in ways I can only imagine.

Ha! Sometimes diapers are more convenient than recently potty trained kiddos :D

Taking my dad to the game tonight, in a virtual recap of him taking me to my first game 35 summers ago. We got first-row seats on the left field fence, which should be fun.

Fboy, Fgirl and I will be there Thursday also, sitting and hanging with Metfairy. Not sure what section we're in, hope we get a chance to say hello to you Kase.

I have to say, Fman's kids are truly delightful.

And it was fun seeing him and Kase today :)

Indeed, The Ffam gets two thumbs up!
Two games in less than 24 hours, I will sleep well tonight!
