The first game of autumn: Phillies at Mets, Thursday night, 7:10 PM, Adam Morgan vs. Seth Lugo. Mets look to shake off their three-game yeech.

Great idea.

On the other side of the continent, at 10:10 PM, the Giants visit the Padres. The Cardinals are off before starting a weekend series at Wrigley.

The three Wild Card contenders are 80-72. Win each series and the Mets finish 87-75. But win the first game of this series first.

Lefty on the mound.

I pray that Terry doesn't do something stupid like start Eric Campbell. It also demonstrates the failure of Sandy and this organization that they were not able to get a major league quality right-handed hitter.

My kingdom for right now for Bubba Trammell.

I think I'd rather go with Reynolds over Campbell:

1. Reyes 3B
2. Cabrera SS
3. Cespedes LF
4. Rivera 2B
5. Granderson CF
6. Reynolds 1B
7. Bruce RF
8. d'Arnaud C

I guess in this scenario my RH pinch-hitter is Bartolo.

I had never seen a Taylor Swift video before. How do I wash the taste of that out of my mouth?

Oh, of course, more FRAMPTON!!

I played this on guitar, although not for many a year.

*grabs acoustic.
The whole song is only a few chords and IIRC the same chords used in Rocky Racoon, only in different order.
Start Aminor and walk it down to an E.

Yep, that's Stevie on harp.

Come on - how do you not love that?

We also associate it with Jacob deGrom (we decided he was "the fella over there with the hella good hair.").

Maybe because I had heard bits of the song a billion times. Some commercial? Don't recall.
But I didn't even know it was that song until she got to that "Playahs gonna play" line.
Swift does absolutely nothing for me, musically or otherwise.
GaGa has more talent in her pinky finger.

Prayers NOT answered.
Also, T.J. Rivera is now soooooooooooo good that he's batting cleanup.
And, de Aza starts against a lefty.

I don't disagree. But I love this song.

Had this lineup been handed to you six months ago, you'd ask who the Phillies are bringing over from Clearwater -- and is Reyes any relation?

September sure makes strange Metfellows.

And for the Phils to be in this position, to totally ruin our season, is just par for my course, I guess. I hat 'em.
You can spin it some other way if you wish (we don't score!, TC is a tard!, etc.) but this is where I'm at.
I don't hope, I don't pray, I demand a sweep here.

Apparently Collin's desperation is contagious.

Bruce sits yet again. I like Rivera playing each day. Hurry back, Wilmer.

When is that last time Jay Bruce played?

He pinch hit last night and K'd.

Jay's last 12 games, which have encompassed 10 starts: 3 singles in 38 at-bats, 1 RBI, 5 walks. The Mets have played 15 games in that span, so he hasn't been used at all in three of them and was limited to PH'ing in two of them.

With five playoff positions, now everyone with a .500 record is still a contender. So it's no longer so easy to find that one extra player you need for 20 ABs in September, much less to expect him to clear waivers.

They found him. His name was Ruggiano, God rest his oft-injured soul.

On the other hand, switching somebody to the 60-Day and adding Travis Tajieron could have worked, at some level.

You are correct, sir!

Shit. I always forget that I lose GKR when we play the Phils. How can I sit through this?
I hope WOR lines up close to the TV broadcast. I'll listen to Howie.
