This is a Big Week

Starting a new thread since this week deserves a thread of its own.

At the start of this 10 game homestand, I was thinking 7-3 would be pretty good. Now after starting out 3-0, I think 4-3 would be kind of a disappointment. I really don't like the idea of going to Miami next Monday with no safety net. They are playing a bit better and have Stanton back. So it seems the Mets need to figure out a way to get it done this week.

Three with the Braves, then four with Philly. Tuesday night is our toughest pitching matchup (Teheran against Giselle-Man).

San Francisco, meanwhile, gets the Dodgers, and specifically Kershaw, tonight, before moving on to San Diego. St. Louis survived their 7 game stretch against the Cubs and Giants still within striking distance. They get 3 in Colorado, before going to Chicago to play a semi-motivated Cubs team.

Have the Mets ever missed Teheran?

Well, yes and no. They've already faced him three times. Tomorrow will be the fourth, so it seems the Mets are not good at missing Teheran.

Of course, in those three starts he has pitched to a 0.78 ERA and struck out 17 (the most he has against any club).

So, the Mets seem to miss Teheran quite a bit.

4-3 does feel like a disappointment, unless SF and/or STL go 3-4. 1 game lead is tiny, but just ticking off games help at this point.

There was that one long road trip where their pilot over-flew his target and the team was forced to land in Karachi instead, but that's the only time I can think of.

They did well against him on September 16, 2011, July 8, 2014, and April 23, 2015. So there's hope!

Four Mets have homered off Teheran: Lucas Duda (twice), Curtis Granderson, David Wright, and Wilmer Flores.

This is us this week:

Flea in the front looks a little conflicted, what with the Tigers cap and Rockies jersey. But Travis d'Arnaud next to him is ALL in on the Rox.

We go 5-0 the rest of this week.

The guy on the right seems to have an Orioles hat on. What's up with these Rox fans? No wonder St. Louis is rolling.
