You have games you know you have to win, you're at home against a team that's 20 games under .500 and you absolutely lay a fucking egg. There needs to be a housecleaning this winter. This team is adrift.

Tough to stay upbeat after a recent stretch like this. I don't think they're done but they are surely in a fog.

Tough to stay upbeat after a recent stretch like this. I don't think they're done but they are surely in a fog. That logjam for the 2nd WC spot in particular is what's so frustrating about this. No team is stepping up to claim it and yet they're losing touch with that group.7 of the last 11 losses have been by 1 run (one other by 2) including twice in extra innings, and during those games they've gone a whopping 11 for 84 w/RiSP. Now conventional wisdom says that it takes about 10 runs scored (or prevented) to turn a loss into a win because you can't dictate when or where those runs will show up, but in a string of close games like this it's clear that just a single hit here or there can flip a result. In this case had they just managed say 18 or 20 hits in those 84 RiSP ABs (still a very mediocre or worse standard and below the team's normal BA) it could have easily turned around half those losses and they'd be right in the thick of things. But they're not.
