Who did the wording?

"Perhaps.."
At first I was like WHA? "perhaps?".. , but then on double thought that's very much something they would do on a plaque. I like it.

I wrote and photoshopped that after his first rejection, 2013. I wouldn't expect it to be on his real plaque.

Lol, I searched for a Piazza HOF plaque and found that. I figured people
would 'get' that it was an old mock up.

That's a great piece of work you did there.

GTS always talked about how much he liked those weekends so one could make an assumption that, unless he simply feels that there are fewer and fewer of his contemporaries attending these days (although that list shows a decent number), the fact that he's not going to be there isn't great news concerning his present condition.

There's plenty of his contemporaries on that list, including two of his catchers -- Bench and Fisk.

Tom *should* be there, but if he has to make a choice based on health or logistics, I'd prefer he save his energy for the 31 ceremony next week. Hoping Gil, Jr., Casey's niece and perhaps representatives of the Shea, Kiner and Robinson families are represented on the field as well.

BTW, I heartily approve of the transfer of the Retired Numbers to the left field facade. Much classier. Though I enjoyed posing in front of them in my one and only appearance on the Party Deck in May, it's always bugged me that 37 or 14 or 41 often seemed to wind up behind a waste receptacle.

Ford and Koufax are the only two returning HOF players whose careers completely predate my fandom. Used to be it felt like a novelty if there was somebody on the podium I personally remembered as active. That was a while ago.

Signing autographs smiling and posing yesterday- Shamsky, Kranepool and Swoboda.

Signing copies of his book and never looking up once- Lenny Dykstra.

Saw Peter Gammons sneaking down an alley next to the diner we ate in.

If you watch tomorrow, we'll be the ones wearing Piazza shirts.

I understand the tradition but shouldn't the HoF speeches be made when games are not ongoing? Perhaps 7 to 8 PM?

I fixed that for you.

Is there anything they don't drag out these days? The games about to start and the noon induction goes into it's second hour.

Lots of Griffey/Mariners people here. Still a majority for Piazza but it's a solid 60/40 split; nice representation by our AL friends.

Surprising number of Griffey shirts/jerseys from Cincinnati. By contrast, only saw one or two Piazza things from the Dodgers. Have not seen any Marlins, Padres or As Piazza fans.

Actual ceremony here is supposed to start "promptly" at 1:30
