I will admit caring a whole lot less with Thor and Cespy not playing tonight.

I'll still be watching. We have a side bet pool in our fantasy baseball league (sorry to cross the streams, but it's relevant) on how many guys from our individual teams make it into the game, so I at least have a reason to watch the whole thing.

My enthusiasm has been curbed without Cespedes in the lineup. Colon might be held in reserve and Familia won't be seen until the 9th so the thought of thrilling to the arrogance of Joe Buck, hearing from Brave John Smoltz (who might be good, I don't care), and then not-watching the best players (e.g., Bumgarner, Strasburg) while we're told that the game "counts"... yeah, I care a whole lot less, too.

Move the game to Wednesday so that Sunday pitchers can participate and the Futures game can have the proper showcase it deserves.

I love the All-Star Game, and Terry has incentive to play to win so we can have home-field advantage in the World Series this year!

I wouldn't be surprised to see Colon get into the game. Terry's managing and it's a nice career salute for Bartolo.

A report of Jake turning down an All-Star slot is disappointing to me.

A report of Jake explicitly deferring to Bartolo is far more encouraging.

A subtle distinction that means everything.

The reason is probably that the current schedule of All Star Games is concentrated in NL parks, so they have to come up with a dumb non-solution by making the AL the home team in the odd NL park.
