He went to the doctor today and shortly after being assured it was nothing, it's something: Not pitching tomorrow, which puts him off schedule to start OD.

Nothing's wrong with the Mets, folks.

seems like he 'might'? see a doctor in NY now. So second opinion? seems like a medical thing. Probably not an illegal (in the suspension manor) thing, but really could be anything.

Well I'm basing my limited understanding of the matter of what Marc Carig told me during the 4th inning on the radio. In the 60 minutes it took the Mets to go down meekly, it went from "no worries, he'll make his next start" to "maybe seeing a specialist in New York?" and they still haven't revealed what he's suffering from.

I mean, could be anything from a wart to like, bubonic plague. Not likely a simple infection or he'd just take some antibiotics not getting a second opinion.

But it's the last game of spring and he wasn't likely going to Las Vegas anyway, so really he's just missing tomorrow and everything after that is unclear. If you want to look on the bright side, if you really wanted Harvey to throw once more to build up arm strength, you could be thinking "let's get him in an extended spring game then and have deGrom hopefully get OD in before the baby and then Harvey after that.

Alderson indicated Harvey was still in Florida, but could be sent to New York for further evaluation if needed.
A person with knowledge of Harvey’s medical issue termed it “not major” and indicated [u:wabxpo5r]the pitcher’s worst-case scenario would be getting pushed back[/u:wabxpo5r] in the rotation or skipping a turn.
“If he had to have a wisdom tooth pulled, he wouldn’t pitch [Tuesday], so let’s not jump to conclusions,” Alderson said.

Well, if it's an addiction, they probably wouldn't be advertising that they're sending him to a doctor in New York.
If it was an STD, I'd assume they could treat it quietly.
