At Bats of the Game:
1) the Grandy come-backer where the pitcher brain-locked
2) getting Gordon to ground out with the bases loaded (Syndergaard's last pitch as it turned out)

If either or both of those ABs turn out other than how they did this could have been a very different game despite the final lopsided score

And if the umps had called strikes correctly in the first few innings, it's a shutout.

Baseball. It's funny.

Best game I've attended since grand slam single.

Terrific comeback by Syndergaard.

This. 12 in a row he sat down.

We won game three in '86 by six runs, too.

Whoa.

1986
Gm 1: lost by 1
Gm 2: lost by 6
Gm 3: won by 6

2015
Gm 1: lost by 1
Gm 2: lost by 6
Gm 3: won by 6

Normally I'm like, the ump sucks but he's human and all a that, like trying to be nice. But early on with Thor, before he was getting the calls, I was like, THAT'S IT, GET ROBOTS OR CAMERAS OR WHATEVERTHEFUCKYOUWANT to call the strikes! I'VE HAD ENOUGH! NO MORE HUMAN UMPS!

Then a few innings later I was over it.

Two broadcast questions:

(1) Is it everything I know about Pete Rose that keeps his bow-tied broadcasting look from being Elmer Fudd cute, or is it objectively not working?

(2) As long as the guy is banned, isn't it in baseball's interest to ask broadcasters that contract with not to hire him either?

In a postgame interview Syndergaard says he threw inside to Escobar purposefully to "make them uncomfortable" and "open up the outside of the plate".

Hosmer: "Anytime a guy throws at one of your teammates heads, it's not going to go over very easy...we'll find away to get back at him"

1) It is not.

2) I've enjoyed Pete. If he can do the job I see no reason why he shouldn't have it.

My own question:

Was there an intermittent loss of sound for like a second every 10 or 15 minutes? I ask because this was happening to both my broadcast and my brothers at his place.

Syndergaard: "I certainly wasn't trying to hit he guy. I wanted to make him uncomfortable up there. If they have a problem with it they can meet me 60 feet six inches away."

Edit: Saw the interview and fixed it

lol. No, just a complete drop out. Even during commercials.

I thought Harold Reynolds was full of shit half of the time. I missed Joel singing the anthem.

I appreciate that Syndergaard was willing to start the game with one up and in, but considering how close it was to the guys head he should just remain mum on this. They still got the message whether he admits to it or not.

They fixed this for the later editions.

HoJo agrees with Zvon. He tweeted that Syndergaard should stop talking about because he has to face them in game 7.

Ronnie was wholeheartedly in favor of the pitch itself though he didn't opine directly about Thor's follow up comments. The GKR and friends group in general thought the act itself was ok and good in that it accomplished making them uncomfortable and getting them thinking about it and talking about it I.e a distraction. They also seemed ok and again even agree with Thor "owning it".

I think it's very kool that he did it, but he could have "owned it" after the series. I also think it's great he's being so ballsy, so maybe that plays in his favor.
Love the ballsiness. Not too thrilled with the timing.

Can't find one pic of that nice play Wright made on the bloop single/could'a been a double.

I just saw the buzz pitch. It was eye level but he didn't have to move his head. Just the pitch being up there floored him. lol. That was the perfect purpose pitch. Earlier I thought it was more above his head. But it wasn't.

Still, shhhh. Till after we win. I do not want to see Noah getting thrown at.

(From Predator)
"If it bleeds, we can kill it."

Thor showed that they bleed.

Kill! KILL! KILL!
