I'm looking for a front view of Fammy pulling the Orosco. Not finding one. I found a neat back view. And this side view. And I thought the pic from the first card was awesome. Maybe the best. That's by David J. Phillip.

Looking at it again, I think that was a legit strike. I had thought the Mets got generous call there, but that was strike three.

Sandy Alderson, soaking it all in.

There's no way Sandy's not choking back tears there. I'm choking back tears just looking at the photo.

No, no, Sandy's not choking back tears. Look at Sandy's positioning. He's clearly pivoted directly toward the third base dugout. "Fuck you, Theo," Sandy blurts out. "I taught Billy, you, and rest of the computer geeks everything you fucking know; but I didn't teach you everything I fucking know. Bite me. HA!!!!"

Mets clinched the division in Cincinnati. Won the NLDS in Los Angeles. Won the NLCS in Chicago. All of these road celebrations are unprecedented for the Mets. Unless the Mets win the World Series in four or five games, 2015 will be the first postseason year in which the Mets had no home celebrations. Could it be something about Citi Field?

[list:1fvvthff]In 1969, all celebrations happened at Shea.

1973: NLCS was won at Shea.
1986: NLCS won in Houston, but division and World Series at Shea.
1988: Clinched NL East at Shea.
1999: Clinched Wild Card in Cincinnati, but won NLDS at Shea.
2000: Clinched Wild Card and won NLDS at Shea.
2006: Clinched NL East at Shea, won NLDS in Los Angeles[/list:u:1fvvthff]

Also, a quick look at the ugly flipside, the five postseason series that the Mets lost:

[list:1fvvthff]1973 World Series: In Oakland
1988 NLCS: In Los Angeles
1999 NLCS: In Atlanta
2000 World Series: At Shea (This one still galls.)
2006 NLCS: At Shea[/list:u:1fvvthff]

I don't know the vintage on that bottle, but THIS has been a very good year,

And, if you listen carefully to the videos of the celebration, somebody is saying to Conforto "Here's your water". I took that as a comment about his age, although he's of legal age.

Two additions:
The 1973 Division title was clinched at Shea.
The 2000 NLCS was clinched at Shea as well.

You're right about the 2000 NLCS, but the Mets clinched the NL East in 1973 at Wrigley Field.

If you're jonesin' for Mets baseball and have MLB.TV you can re-watch any of the playoff games through thier media center. Just use the calendar and click back to the game you want to view.

I couldn't watch these live thru MLB.TV, and I'm thrilled that they let me watch the replays. They have become available to view about 3 or 4 hours after every game and still are.
