Is there something wrong with Granderson? Seems like an odd night to give him a rest and put Tejada in the leadoff spot.

He has LHP disease.

The fact that T was inserted lead off makes me think it was a last minute move. I know Lags hasn't been the best at the plate but I'd still give him this lead-off opportunity. Mostly because they were grooming him to be a lead off guy back in spring training.

A 55-point edge in OBP for Tejada over Lagares.
You want guys on base in front of Cespedes/Wright 29% of the time or 35% ?

Nice start, Matt!

Now, let's see the offense explode so Harvey doesn't need to stick around more than 5.

Eh, I don't mind it.
Unlike most things ESPN/other sports channels do with their graphic toys and displays, this one is reasonably unobtrusive.

One thing that makes innings count less meaningful is 11 pitch innings like he had in the 1st.

Now, let me be clear, I wasn't OBJECTING to Tejada batting leadoff.

Well, my argument is mutedly moot since T starts the game with a 2 bagger. TC: manager of the year.

Totally agree.

It would help if the strike zone for a 5'10" guy wasn't the
same as a 6'4" guy. Find it annoying, but I'm cranky. :-)

Uribe is not your typical cleanup hitter. But after the Tejada double, I can't question TC.

Bad ass pigeon walking around the on deck circle like nothings going on. We are an animal friendly ballpark.

Twenty-eight pitches down and Cuddy up with the bags loaded.

Long bottom of the first going on. Girardi may get to fifty pitchers after all.

Cuddy. Plegh.

I fear not getting more runs there will come back to bite.

Wow, that was cool!

LOL Girardi.

How did G not get tossed there? When he ran out I figured his plan was to get tossed.

I wish they'd stop talking about the Boras/innings thing. There's a game going on, guys.

But ESPN doesn't broadcast games, they broadcast stories.

So with the news that Tanaka is out for his next start due to a slight hamstring strain on account of bunting, have the Yanx sued the league yet, or petitioned the Supreme Court, or at least gone to Judge Judy over the fact that playing in an NL park is ruining their season? Remember one of the Steinbrenner boys whining about that when CM Wang was injured running a couple years back.

I'm not sure how good my lip-reading skills are, but I think the umpire said "Shut up!" and Girardi came out of the dugout saying, "Don't tell me to shut up!"

She was the fantasy guru last year. Good for her getting that medical degree in the offseason.
