How do you like it, how do you like it?

I was hoping to see this

Wow. Granderson is so busy celebrating that he was practically at the water cooler before everybody told him he had to go back to third.

Kinda thought the Mets should have gone to Murphy or Johnson for Uribe. Righthanded breaking ball guy? Not Uribe's kind of pitcher.

Jayson Werth's 2nd HR of the day in top 9 puts the Nats ahead 7-6
Then Papelbon protected the lead for exactly zero batters as a leadoff HR by Freddie Friction' Galvis in the bottom half ties it up again.

There aren't that many people in [insert bank name here] stadium tonight, but the ones that are there are providing a fair share of 'You Suck Papelbon' chants.

Nationals go ahead again, but have already used 6 relief pitchers.

Doug Fister put in for the save!

Posted

Fister amazingly hasn't even been in a game since Sept 1st.
Talk about a guy who fell out of favor with that team. I think it's safe to say that the Nats aren't going to be anxious to re-sign him this winter.

And the Nats win it ... so we'll sleep on number 10 this evening.

Doug Fister will be a Marlin next year.

I'm curious if he spends the rest of the year in the pen and hits the free agent market as a potential closer.

Verizon Trivia: "Who are the two players with 250 or more hits for both the Mets and the Marlins?"

I'll go with Dave Magadan and Luis Castillo.

Loduca?

Checking my answers:

Magadan: 610 hits for the Mets but only 123 for the Marlins. INCORRECT!

=#0040FF]Castillo: 337 hits for the Mets and 1,273 for the Marlins. CORRECT!
