Why are we so Anti-Ichiro?

Colin provides the roadmap to a complete game in today's pansy pitch-limited MLB... Dont strike anyone out, don't walk anyone, and hope for the best.

Stole Zvon's girlfriend. It was ugly. Zvon caught them together and told him to take a walk. Suzuki said, "I'm Ichiro. I never walk."

Fuck you Ichiro!

That's two straight nights that you have posted your displeasure with Ichiro. Last night he wasn't even in the game. Just curious, but what did Ichiro ever do to you (or the Mets) to invoke such hostility?

He pinch hit yesterday. And it's a longstanding thing, actually discussed here several times.

It goes back to his Mariners days, and the pukarific adoration he insisted upon, including his own store in the stadium, his refusal to ever admit that he didn't need a translator for interviews, etc.

Fuck him!

Then I guess you just witnessed the best.

I like Ichiro but I'll yell fuck you to anyone on the other team with little motivation.

By utilizing all his resources, TC is showing confidence in his entire team, yet another reason they continue to keep pulling together and winning.

Or he's a fucking idiot with this lineup. I guess we'll see.

Yeah...I'm unfortunately leaning a bit towards the latter.
I have no problem with giving people days off and using subs in the lineup; but I don't think it's a great idea to be doing that with two lineup spots in the same game.

I know we won but this point should not be lost. If Collins cannot understand that guys like Campbell and Young are spare parts I'd favor taking them away unless he demonstrates he understands their role.

That's what Terry wants you to think!

Talk to me Saturday. Eric Young or Eric Campbell will be in the lineup.

And we get both. It was so foreseeable, youse guys!

Best fat Met play since Rusty Staub in the LF/RF game in 1985.

Went looking for this play and I found this mostly wonderful tribute video set to a song about Staub (with perhaps too many minor chords). The catch comes around 2:10. He makes the shoestring catch in fair territory, and his momentum takes him to the rail, and into the arms of his adoring fans.

It ends with footage from Rusty Staub Day.
