ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Flores is beginning to look like the Met's best offensive weapon. Yes, offensive weapon is an oxymoron as related to the Mets.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Well, the Giants sure did switch up from getting infield hits. And now Aoki gets his 17th hit of the series so far. And, unlike NYM leadoff doubles, I'm betting the Giants are going to figure out a way to bring him in.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 Feeling ungracious about Dave Righetti talk in the booth.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Well this game may be boring and sucky, but at least it's only going to take four hours or so.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 A lot of strikeouts looking for Granderson these days.

dgwphotography Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 hmmmmmm.... Gary said that on one show, the opposition to he and Howie was outstanding. Might that be our own Gafif?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 It's not fair to call Curtis "indifferent" there. He was hustling.Clumsy, but hustling.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 Is Torres another guy who shot-puts his throws to the bases?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 Romo drives me crazy. Touches every part of his body before each pitch.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 Guys, just put it in play. Baby steps.Bunt. I'm serious.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 That's it. Put it in play and make them play some defense.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Harvey has a 7.20 ERA over his past four starts.Yuck!
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Can we please put a hold on the 'Harvey Day' stuff right now, as well as the Dark Knight stuff?(Although the way he's been pitching lately, he may want to wear a mask.)
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 It may be happening anyway. There was not a big crowd in the so-called "Matt Kave" last night.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 we'll get a few days or weeks of anti Dark Knight/Harvey Day talk, which is really the exact same thing, and then he'll be dominate again and we'll be back to it.

He's basically the Cuddyer of pitching lately.Because 3 of 4 bad starts is a small sample? Because he's pretty much always been good and that he's just a bit off right now is what makes the most sense given what we know about him, his stats, his injury history, etc? Also Cuddyer is hitting .314/.359/.465 over the last 28 days, and is slightly above average on the season offensively.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Never was in the Harv-is-godlike club but maybe all those nodecisions while pitching lights out got into his swelled head?

Harvey allowed his first HR on an 0-2 pitch, ever. It's Travis d'Arnaud's first game back. Were they on the same page? Was the game plan different last night? HAS there been a concerted effort to occasionally pitch to more contact? (Which is really stupid) The Mets are throwing more balls in the zone, striking out more guys but walking fewer. (This was one of Ron's points) The scouting reports may have adjusted, it's time to adjust back. Slow adjustments to hitter adjustments has been one of my long standing points of contention with Mets pitchers. Ron suggested throwing a few more way inside. Make them uncomfortable. You can probably miss on any side of the zone you want though, if guys are more apt to swing because they know it's a high-probably "in the zone" pitch, they're going to swing at more balls too. So make them do that. (This is where it's okay, if you hit your spot, to be okay with contact.)I wish I had the time to really dig into these numbers. Like, what's the opponents swing% in June versus April-May?edit: 46.7% opponent swing percentage in April, 48.4% in June if I'm reading that right.
