Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2015 Author Posted May 15, 2015 ATorres finds the strike zone. But Met batters have failed to find their bats.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Players that hustle get triples on some doubles....
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2015 Author Posted May 15, 2015 k Muffy. You had a chance for third. U didn't take it. No reason to steal third now. A single will score u.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 One hit? These guys are spineless losers.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Take a strike, dudes. Bunt like bloody hell. Mars needs base runners.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Somewhat derisive applause for Cuddyer's hit with two out in the ninth. At least they stuck around.Only 9 more bases to go before that third out.OE: Nuttin'.

We needed a sweep off these guys. Their pitchers couldn't pitch batting practice to my old softball team they suck so bad. The Mets put themselves in this position. Before St Lou they really needed a sweep here w/Mil if they want to be thought of as a contender. To lose the first game 7-0 is as bad as it gets.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 I don't particularly mind him not going for third. It was late in the game, and we didn't need the run, so much as the six runs behind him. We needed non-outs more than anything.Maybe a triple fires his team up a little and gives them a shining blue flame to follow into battle, but 147% of us would tear him to bits if he somehow fails in his attempt for three.I'm more concerned with the lack of focus in on-basemanship. You take a strike when down by multiple runs in late innings. If it doesn't help you get a few base runners, at least it makes the pitcher work a little harder, and gets you into the bullpen a little earlier in game one of a series.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Well, they're down already two infielders, but we'll see.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 The good news, such as it is, is the Colon didn't walk anybody. It's only May 15, and April already seems like a hundred years ago.

I doubt he could have made a triple out of it, but there was a small chance (if he did he scores on the proceeding fly out). This team has to optimize its chances, force errors, do all the stuff that had them winning in April. Without a big bat we have to do all the little stuff, and do it right.Don't mind me. Still venting after this one.
