Sounds to me like everyone knew he was opting out with enough time to discuss it internally in preparation of him actually exercising the opt out. And asking for the contract terms is basically them saying "Hey, yeah, we're interested."

more of a detox. I hate routine, and i hate that my morning required that I find and consume coffee. Caffeine doesn't have a huge effect on me, at least not consciously, but I was concerned it might be making me more jittery, a poorer sleeper, and perhaps even mentally fuzzy. Seems like most of those concerns were unfounded though, I just feel like i could use a cup of coffee and all the physical addiction factors should be gone by now. But I'd still rather it not dictate my morning, so I'm trying to break the mental routine of "Hey, i'm sitting at my desk in front of the computer and am tired of just water, what's another 0-calorie drink I could have?" that led to me guzzling the stuff.

The Twins (Paul Molitor) vs Phils (Ryne Sandberg) ST game today was the first time that HoF players have faced off against each other as managers.
Surprising, to me anyway, that this has apparently never happened in the regular season before - and won't this year either with no Philly/Minny games on the sked.
Maybe next year if both survive that long.

I imagine future Hall of Fame players have faced off against each other. And certainly guys who would have been in the Hall of Fame as players had it existed have faced off against each other.

Trying to find an overlooked precedent. Ted Williams faced Bob Lemon, but before Lemon joined the Hall of Fame. Bob Lemon faced Frank Robinson, but before Robbie joined the Hall of Fame.

So the last update on this chart was for the Brewers picking up manager Ron Roenicke's option for 2016. But that's not looking like such a smart business move right now as the Brewers canned Roenicke on Sunday night just 25 games into the season.

It's almost hard to remember now that the Beermakers were as much as 5-1/2 games in 1st place in mid-June of the '14 season. But, between the 2nd half of last season and the early part of this one, they're 38-64 since July 1st, 16-35 since September 1st, and 7-18 this year.
Former Brewer (and Rockie, and Marlin, and DBack, and Dodger) Craig Counsell is expected to be named as the replacement. He's been in the Milwaukee front office although has no managing or even coaching experience.
