Oh, sorry, I missed a "next to.'

Dave Magadan had a heckuva half season in 1987, punchless as it was, but came up empty. Jeff Kent split his rookie season between the AL and the NL... and got no RoY votes in either.

My scoring system has turned this into a war of attrition.

Yes to Payday, no to Mann. I generally make it a habit to say no to menn, in fact.

This has been an educational thread because I'm gonna adopt some of Edgy's new rules in my next quiz and an hour ago, I had no idea what stone soup was.

Nobody's mentioned Baby Rey?

Baby Rey has been tagged already. Number six above.

Should have credited correct answers with two points, like I used to.

Good guess. Mike Jacobs may have only played 30 games in 2005, but .310 / .375 / .710 // 1.085 is a heckuva line.

No votes, though.

While the judges in New York state that "Since Dwight Gooden was the NL Rookie of the Year in 1984," should be clearly understood to mean post-1984, they've graciously sympathasized with the notion that you saw ambiguity there, and will not dock you a point. The world is imperfect; we can't ask language to be perfect.

Point for McDowell. Two rookie Mets remain. One was almost gotten.

Good call. Randall K.'s 1997 generated meaningful enough interest to garner a third-place vote.

Last guy DID come up, but the judges didn't allow it as a guess on a technicality.

It's perhaps a headscratcher, as he gave 32 solid starts, but Jae Neo.

wow, i had to go look that up now... Seo got no votes in 2003 for for 32 starts, 188 1/3 innings of a 110 ERA+, but Jerome Robertson (who?) got a vote and finished 7th despite pitching 160 2/3 innings to the tune of an 86 ERA+ (5.10 ERA and a 1.519 WHIP)

racism!
