Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 At least Jank is working more efficiently-- he's getting his third-time-through problems in the second instead of the fifth.

Friday night homecoming start, and his rotation spot is totally on the line here, isn't it?Benjamin Grimm wrote:I think it is, yes.Agreed. Mejia wanted a shot at starting. This has been your shot kid (I'd even give him one more after this, regardless). Need 6 solid from you at least. None of that falling apart shit. Switch it up. Keep em guessing. Bare down. Stay sharp.Whew. That was a loooooong top of the 2nd.My internet has been wacky bad this evening- in case I go *poof*
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Bouncing a two-strike slider with the bases loaded on a wetwet night? Quite the ball-check, no?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Mr. Carmona's looking a little Pelf-reminiscient with the command.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Granderson swung at three balls-four there. Just because the sinker's up doesn't mean it's good to hit.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Smart running from Utley on the tag will likely steal the Phils a tying run here.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 In all fairness, the single from Brown probably mooted the play. But still... good running.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 What, no sac bunt there?[Tongue-in-cheek-so-hard-I'm-wearing-a-hole-in-it]I see no way at all that these runners left on-- 8 through 3 innings-- will come back to bite the home team tonight. None at all. [/Tongue-in-cheek-so-hard-I'm-wearing-a-hole-in-it]
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Is the hole in your cheek? Or in your tongue?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Terry on Flores: "We figured, with the state of our shortstop situation, what have we got to lose."// Tejada weeps.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 It's nice to have all three guys back in the booth.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Maybe it's a good thing that the Mets have all but abandoned Saturday afternoon games - because this one might not be done until sometime tomorrow morning.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Got to get out of the box on the tappers, Juanny. Fast guys got to be ready to run.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 I don't find myself seconding Ojeda that often, but I think his premise regarding Mejia's diminishing-returns thing-- that Mejia's mechanics get sloppy (perhaps due to his being "max-effort," as GKR are emphasizing here) as the game wears on-- looks dead-on. Mejia starts off with good, 12-to-6 posture on the follow-through... and, like he's doing this inning, he ends up falling off toward the left at all sorts of different angles. Subpar pitch execution must follow, right?
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 I say hit him every time!uhoh. Flores takes one to the nutz.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 He's approaching 100 pitches and he isn't flying open like last time, but he's not bending as much.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Right. He's way stiff now, and still listing a little. It's almost like an overcorrection.Speaking of stiff... Flores just caught it in the stamen there, didn't he?
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 You're blowin your shot kid! So is it this or get shelled? Either way you're gonna lose.I still say run him out there one more time before rotation removal. Dice K on.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 (edited) Mildly. Maybe. I'm feeling more Familiar. (Admittedly, I'm probably biased.)How do you mess up your pants-leg that badly on a not-close-at-all SB play, Dom Brown? Edited May 9, 2014 by Guest
