Zack Wheeler puts his 5.13 ERA on the line against Tom Koehler, whose ERA is less than half that. At least I think it is. I didn't go to Stony Brook, so I don't know.

The Marlins sideliney woman was asking us to tweet in suggestions for Derek Dietrich's walkup music. I think we should storm them with "La Vie en Rose."

Mets will win. Mets. Big.

Root with heart you will young seawolf, and conflicted
not you will feel at end.

I have a theory that their bioclocks can catch up with the brutal travel schedule just in time for them to grab this game.

So very conflicted about this game.

Let me give you a hint.

Nope. Still conflicted.

I'm going to do what I always do, which is root for eight shutout innings from TK and then a crapton of Met runs in the ninth off the pen.

Lagares is in center, so let fans all be attentive
Murphy is at second, where he muffs, but is inventive
Wright of course, is there at third, his arm be like a cannon
Granderson plays right because we paid him lots of mammon
Young's in left, no not that Young this one is the other
Duda plays at first because we banished Ike, his brother
Recker catches day games and he gives me palpitations
Tejada plays at short despite the fan base protestations
Wheeler deals today I hope he soars to his potential
Something 'bout a Mets day game is just so quintessential

Looks like you misspelled "eight shutout innings from TK and then a crapton of Met runs in the ninth off the pen" there.

We need wins! If my kid was pitching I'd root for the
home team. (of course, I wouldn't tell him)

Rice's back hurts so much he cannot lift his arm, Roobie says.

I suppose if he still can't move it Thursday we're going to see Dana Eveland or Darren Gorski or John Edgin or some shit up here for the Phils.

Two injuried pennies at once? Terry's gonna ride Matsuzaka and Torres hard the next couple of days.

We are under way, scoreless into the top of the second.

Shattered it and left it broke and bleeding on the side of the highway.

Two more innings at a pace that's brisk, baby.

31 pitches thru 3 for Wheeler.
Bet he's never been that low before.

It then takes him 50 pitches just to get through innings 4 & 5 - but the scoreboard is still unblemished so it's OK.
Would have been nice, though, had he not walked Mathis w/2 outs and left himself with the pitcher leading off the 6th

Wheeler Ks again in the sixth (in somewhat-BS-y fashion, but still).

What the hell, the radio broadcast went to an Emergency Broadcast System test.
