Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I suspect the walk to McGehee was semi-intentional but still, four walks in a six batter span ins't a good sign and he needed more than twice as many pitches to get through innings 4-6 six (73) than it did for him to get through 1-3 (31)

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 Wheeler packs it in after 104 pitches.I dunno. I'd've given him a shot at another inning. It's Florida, man.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I think if I was a manager, and my pitcher had a cold dead hand, I'd be sure to take him out of the game.I see that nobody else seems to know what that C stands for on the MLB.com scoreboard.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 "Challenges remaining," I'd imagine.Following the hit/sac... Abreu on to hit, Satin in the on-deck circle, more subs coming in the ninth. When Terry uses his bench, he really uses his bench.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Abreu looked like he was in control of that at-bat, right up until he was headed to the bench. SUNYboy over here, man.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 I went to a New York City school. I have pride when my sister and brother Jaspers succeed and do great things. But if and when young men from alma mater play for teams other than the Mets, or worse, directly thwart Met ambitions, I label these men as TRAITORS.Because that's what they are.Hey, look, Reed Johnson is still playing.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 These guys throwing pitches for our team, though? They're PROFESSIONAL RELIEVERS.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Nice relievin' so far.But whoever gets the 9th inning is going to have to deal with Stanton and even worse (for this week anyway) McGehee.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Bottom of the ninth, two on, nobody out.Terry should signal for the triple play here.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 This is the kind of move that's going to get the fans even more against Farnie than they already are.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 Winning run on third and signalling for Farnie instead. Yikey.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 7th walk-off loss for the Mets in this stadium in just its third season of operation.
