seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Can't relegate this to "other news," Jeets. Jaff Decker was an integral piece of the 2014 Mets, and now he's not here any more. That's back-page news, whether you agree with it or not.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 The Mets need to do whatever it takes to reacquire Jose Reyes to make up for the way they bumbled Jaff Decker.

Kind of a Jedi mind trick. Maybe he should have taken Omar's job after all.

seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 He can't; he's waiting on hold to talk to Francesa about Jaff.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I guess the only thing to do now is wait for Decker to become a superstar and then count the days until the inevitable 'I can't believe Sandy didn't grab Jaff Decker when he had the chance back in 2013' posts. The details of those posts will vary somewhat but will have several things in common:- they'll blame Jeffie for it- none of the players we would have had to trade for him would have amounted to any good - they'll talk about how if Nelson Doubleday didn't have the team stolen from him that there's no way this opportunity would have slipped away
